Funn

I know some dragons players including some who played yesterday
One thinks that in 4 years setterfield will be up there with Bontempeli as one of the top mids in the Comp. also thinks whilst scrimshaw is talented needs to work harder to improve as he is coasting. Thinks he makes way more mistakes then he should. I also think the criticism of Setterfield is harsh considering he only played about 5 tax games. Personally think he is a better prospect then Brodie
Scrimshaw seems to try and nail a lot of dicky kicks, probably just needs to learn to kick it into the space ahead of his team mates a bit more.

Just going by a guy who has seen him play every game. If you have as well then you obviously have different opinions. He doesnt rate him.

I'm on the Taranto/Florent bandwagon :thumbsu:

Scrimshaw a close second
Third?
.... Let's say we bid on Perryman at 10, Setterfield at 11, Mutch at 12 & McCreadie at 13 ....
Agree we should bid on Setterfield and possibly Perryman, but don't like Kobe that Mutch.

Sproule I'd bid on if we had a second round pick.

i really like Koby Mutch, he's a beautifully balanced player I don't know where he's rated though.

With all the farcical concessions, I agree categorically. But I think the Saints have said, "Fine, well, what options do WE have to get some concessions, and milk them for all their worth?" And the big one has been international players.

So far, two of those have come close to paying off: JBT and Holmes.

JBT has tracked reasonably well, and I'd imagine the club might international rookie him next year. He's never going to be a highly skilled player, but he's learned he like to hurt people as a tall back enforcer. That could be handy at times.

Holmes has turned out to be an absolute gold-mint pickup. Think of it this way: if we can get a player or pick worth #20 or better for Longer, a large proportion of the reason why we can do that, is because Holmes offers us a viable back up ruck. In that sense, we've effectively turned a free-hit international rookie into a top-20 pick. NOICE!

We've got the two Irish lads coming in, too.

This may already have been covered, but could we get Goy Lok as one of our Academy kids? From our zone (Sandy Dragons), and from a non-traditional background...

I think we will in the future get guys like him. I think he would have had to actually attend an academy session or sign some paper work saying he's listed. We signed up today and I thought about trying to pretend we were a bit more ethnic than we are just to get him to the Saints but I couldn't lie. It's really in it's infancy ATM.

I thought we could pick an extra rookie this year on the basis of the ethnic academies - assuming they're not drafted beforehand

One fella that caught my eye in the TAC Cup final was Esava Ratugolea, raw as hell but there is someone about seeing a big man who is so agile, Could be anything. I like Florents skill but he seemed so skinny, i know it doesn't mean he won't be great but i worry about him being easily manhandled. But the one that really stood out was Will Brodie whoever picks him up looks like the will have gotten a future champion.
Where will Dylan Clarke likely go in the draft? It sucks that we don't have a second round pick this year at the moment, best depth in a draft for awhile i think.

Jack Scrimshaw is already sponsored by a WPI supplement through Chemist Warehouse. I just saw him on an add with the caption "future AFL star". A bit of Package look at me?!
