He's one of their best three players though. Rocky no one wants because he's a bit of a dick but besides Zorko Hanley is their best. Beams probably not going to be as good any more. Brisbane would want heaps for him like we would for Steven, Rooey or even Joey. I don't think it's a bargain but he's just what GC need and they have a heap of picks and can't lure talent. They will pay him heaps and they will be very keen to get the deal done.
We wouldn't get anything Joey. Dal Santo got pushed out the door knowing that we were only going to get a pick in the 20's for him. Steven is two years younger and coming off his 3rd b and f.

Barrels brodie vs steele if you had to pick 1 who would you take and why?

With talk about us trying to get into the top 6 i don't see the point in getting brodie now that we have steele.
Brodie is the better-credentialed junior, and hasn't had a knee reconstruction, so you'd probably take Brodie.

I am very very pleased with Steele's acquisition though, I really like him as a footballer.

Agreed though, Brodie may be surplus to requirements now, although you'd be stupid not to think seriously about him if he was available at any pick; what we probably look at now is genuine outside pace, or Taranto because he's so dangerous forward.

Bolton
Rotham
Berry
Gallucci
Powell-Pepper ....... @23?
Ugh.

Gallucci yes, although I'm a bit meh about him. Probably more a Villis type is what we're after than Rotham or Berry.

Would also look very very closely at Jordan Ridley with one of those picks; 192cm utility from Oakleigh, played a lot in the back half but plays anywhere. Excellent by foot and swift.

I see him as a wingman long term.

Anyway this is pretty pointless arguing, Steven is one year younger than Hanley. Teams want something good for their best players.

I think long term it would be great to have that third tall intercept marker, like Eaton Wood. Any around this draft? How would you rate the following:

- Ridley
- Rotham
- Louge

Yeah I like Rotham, can play a few positions and athletic. Was talked up as a top 15 player at times but seems to have drifted out.

As an interceptor?

Rotham, Logue, Ridley.

Steele had a posterior cruciate ligament... Definitely not as bad as an ACL

If we look at posts mid year - everyone had Brodie as a lock for a top 3 pick.

Why would you pass over him if we could land a pick at 5 or 6?

Taranto has Norm Smith written all over him.

If they all had to wait another year to be drafted, either one of Taranto or Scrimshaw or Brodie could be stand out number 1 picks... who knows.

I just watched 10 minutes of Taranto Videos and 10 minutes of Brodie Videos.

Taranto just reminded me of Jimmy Toumpas

Brodie reminded me of Fyfe

I think Taranto has much more of a contested game than Toumpas had or has. Averaged about 12 CP's per game this year (5th most in the TAC Cup).

His numbers and attributes read like Jimmy Bartel to me.

So you think (or do you know) that Brodie is the man we are trying to get a high draft pick for?
No idea, i get next to no info about draftees. I personally want Brodie. Just the way he moves and keeps his feet screams ELITE to me

Taranto reminds me of Chapman.

Brodie reminds me of a current day Ryan Griffin. That said.. Fyfe wasn't the sculpted beast he is now at the same age.
