Any love out there for Jordan Ridley?

At the young end (still 17) and seems to be still improving .. looks a likely type to me but have not seen much of any of these kids... so just asking those who have

Any chance we take him at 23 ?
Any change he is there at 36?

(assuming we keep those picks)
From Brett Anderson ...
"Scouting notes: Reads play well in back half and is composed. Kicking is good and takes up OK defensive positions. Can kick goals when playing forward. Contested possession % a question mark."

BA has him at 16, Bishop at 30 and Twomey outside that.

Me likey at 36, not sure he'd be there though.

I like the idea of Ridley at 36. ( or maybe even 50).
Seems like there is a chance he could play midfield but at the worst a useful utility to replace Dempster.

If it's happening, it's happening at 23.

Give me SPS if we get pick 5 from GWS, otherwise any of;

Shai Bolton: 177cm 67kg outside mid
Dan Venables: 186cm 80k mid/fwd
Alex Villis: 182cm 70kg outside mid/def
Jordan Gallucci: 183cm 73kg outside mid
Cedric Cox: 184cm 70kg outside mid
Jordan Ridley: 192cm 79kg utility
Joshua Begley: 187cm 87kg fwd/mid

What about the go home factor for SPS? If that is not an issue than yes - SPS would be a great addition to our team

I think if GWS end up with 13 instead of 5, we try and get 13 and 15 for next years first and one of our second rounders.

Some good kids around that pick that wont make it to 26 - Berry, Logue, Florent, Bolton, Simpkin. Getting two of those guys would be unreal.

Are we getting silly?
Why would someone give us two first rounders that may be lower than our next years pick?

13 and 15 will likely have to be used on Setterfield and Perryman, if they can get enough points for all their academy's as well as get a first round pick next year, why wouldn't they? What are they losing?

Supposedly he wants to play footy in Melbourne. Add SPS and Venables/Galluci along with Steele Stevens Brown and carlisle and possibly freeman basically as new recruits, then we've added a serious amount of talent to our list, particular in SPS and Venables who could be match winners in the midfield

OK but surely someone else would offer them a better deal.

Good luck to them if they do I suppose but Brisbane are the other other side with two first rounders next year and they and already have two first rounders and a couple of second rounders (4 picks in the top 22) this year so I'm not sure they'd be that worried about getting more high picks this year.

Well then I'm on the SPS bandwagon then - exactly the type of player we dont have....

Need a crystal ball to guess who's gonna be a footballer's footballer out of those guys but they all sound good. Anyone's guess who slides.

At pick 36 you might want to factor in Brennan Cox and Jack Maibaum. For when Browny retires. Both are All Australian key defenders. It could free up Hugh Goddard to be our forward/ruck too.

Reckon there's a small chance we make a bid on an academy player like Sproule or Garthwaite.

Would love Sproule to add to the KPP depth but doubt they pass on him

I wouldn't mind taking a a KPF with pick 36, even if they are a project. If bruce or paddy go down we will be mighty short. If the player ends up doing a walker thats great. Barrels got some names for us?

Shannon Beks - 196cm
Karl Brown - 193cm
Jack Maibaum (also a KPD) - 193cm

None necessarily worth a pick that high though... There's a few that will potentially be around later in the draft (i.e. 36 onward)...

Luke Strnadica - 199cm
Brock McGregor - 200cm
Sam McLarty - 193cm
Nick Larkey - 197cm
Braidon Blake - 194cm
Mitchell Carter - 196cm

Bear in mind we've also nominated Mitch McCarthy (196cm) as an indigenous academy kid.

Brett Anderson says trade two seconds to get into first.
Don't mind the idea, a pick around 15 similar to Gresham.
Pick the remaining of Berry, Simpkin, Florent.
Might be worth looking at if we can't get picks 13 and 15 or 5. I'd be aiming for 13 if they had it instead of 15 though.

Baines has said from the start though that he wants 3 picks inside the second round though so we'd have to find another way to do that.

Picks 23 and 36 = 1317
Pick 15 = 1,112
Pick 13 = 1,212

we can add some points by trading 50 for their 55... to ensure we get 13.. 55 goes for Stevens anyway

Baines has he wants to trade into this years second round, but things do change .. I dont think he saw the Hawks deal coming when he saw that.. he may be happy to keep two first rounders next year if we get 13 this year

Or someone like GC may be interested in swapping a 2017 first for a 2016 first? (lol if it is pick 10)
Either way we would end with 3 first rounders in 2 years .. as well as getting Steele who IMO is easily worth a first rounder (teens pick)

I don't think we'd have to add anything as 23 and 26 for 13 makes them an extra 105 points as it is.

I am, although watching more footage this week I'm starting to grow on Rotham for the right price. Very cool head, great mark, looks like he'll fill out a bit more as well. Wouldn't mind him :thumbsu:
Yeah I liked the look of him in the champs. 2.90sec 20m sprint from memory, so he's fast and was doing the kicking in, so he's also a good kick. Very similar type to White though I'd say.

He looks like he's got a lot of height on Brandon White, but maybe that's my perception, haven't looked up his height.
