Rotham and Ridley are what 188-192cm? Hardly key talls (195cm-200cm) so theyd be in that half back category which I believe we have many especially given we are also drafting 2 irish blokes that are both 190cm+ and Macarthy.

Given all that dont you think wed be better to target fast midfielders with picks 23,36?

It depends which fast midfielder you want.
I'd rather get the best available. Just because you want a certain fast midfielder in your head doesn't mean one of the guys available to us will be that person. A lot of the outside mids available in this draft have big question marks. A lot of the players described as outside mids are more accurately described as forwards or backs who MIGHT be able to play midfield at AFL level.


White is 188
Webster is 188
Gwilt and Shenton were 188.

Rotham and Ridley are 192 which i'd say is typically at the bottom level of what gets described as a tall. ( Blake was 189 but freaky i think ).
Roberton 194. Gilbert 194. Dempster 191.

EDITED- changed mind. Cox is 19 hasnt been dominating and while apeedy disposal i find isnt great, hence why he plays backline in juniors.

Im ON the SPP bandwoagon just hope he lasts til 36. If Gulluci isnt there at 23 id bet we use 23 on him. Cox is exactly what we need.

Order of preference.
1. Gulluci - could be a gun. Speed.
2. SPP
3. Drew
4. Atley

Still not sure how we get on macarthy if hes bid upon?? Whats the discount?

At 23 we will get at least one of Gulluci or SPP which will be great.

Venables supposed to have off field issues sounds like it is pretty well known - hence no nominations to attend the draft. Marshall will take years to develop an AFL body eg Elton from Richmond. Any other year he would be rookied.

Just to confirm if McCarthy is bid on during the draft can we match that bid with points the same as the academy teams?

I'd be very surprised if White is still only 188cm. The first thing that stood out to me (along with how skinny he was) when I saw him live in R23 was his height. He was taller than I was expecting and at one stage early in the game he was standing next to Liam Dawson (listed at 189cm in the AFL player ratings) and Brandon definitely looked the slightly taller of the two. Later in the game D-Mac was on Dawson and there was a clear height difference in Dawson's favour there, which again led me to believe that there's more than a 4cm height difference between Brandon and Dan.

Would not be at all surprised if White has grown to about 191cm and with Robbo standing in at around 194cm and J-Webb able to play above his height and also a very decent 188cm, I'm definitely scratching my head a bit at the idea that we may have prioritised height for a HBF in this draft.

No, we cannot bid.
We need him to go undrafted. I dont even think we get priority in the rookie draft.
We have to wait, and wait and wait.
