Brett Anderson's Big Board 4.0. Draft range:
Florent: 11-23
Todd Marshall: 15-23
SPP: 12-23

I'm sure we'd be happy with any of those sliders :)
Bloody oath.

Can't wait until next Friday. Florent would be my #1 choice but that seems unlikely..

Cedric Cox ftw ;)

I see us being linked to Shai Bolton in a lot of phantoms.
Anyone watch the kid? Is he a chance at being a permanent speedy, line-breaking wingman at AFL level? (If so want). Or a forward rotation player (if so less keen).

In what order would you rank Marshall, Battle, Ridley, Kerr, Sproule, Cox, and Maibaum.
Depends on what context, but... after a bottle of wine...

Marshall
Battle
Ridley
Sproule
Kerr
Cox
Maibaum

... probably...

No doubt we will get that slider and reality is if we get SPP FLORENT BOLTON or MARSHALL whats the actual difference between then and getting Taranto or Brodie??
Id dare say we need SPP Bolton florent moreso anyway. All is great.
For me SPP has it all. No question he'll make it mentally and physically just a question of how good can he be where as others never know if they'll make the transition! So SPP for me.

I'm just having a bit of a hard time believing the players we already have are the ones that are going to bring us from 15th in contested possession to say top 5.

The worry for me is GWS and the Bulldogs are extremely good at both contested possession and are highly skilled. So basically they win it then don't give it back. If we're only good at one of those things then how in gods name are we going to beat them?
Watch first half v swans.
Watch us v dogs, Watch us v Cats
When we played good we really showed phenomenol signs but we couldnt play out 4 quarters as half the team very young and other half very old haha. We need more 50-150 gamers. Which we will have next year. We had the least amount of players in their prime.

AND You do realise our most talented midfielders to be (Acres, Steele, Dunstan) were 19 years old / playing injured this year right!?

Add KStevens (who is 25 and was getting 30+ for the dogs in the middle - still not sure why he was free)

I believe our contested ball will be good next year. I rate dunstan steele and Kstevens. If you guys dont then thats the issue and the question we will have to wait and see.

Taranto's better

The Swans game was a demolition in the midfield

Taranto's better
Better finisher than SPP? Not from what I see.
Taranto and brodie are inside mids right? We dont need them. We desperately need speed / line breakers and young KPPs to develop.
BUT what im saying is at the end of the day to get SPP and DREW AND NEXT YEARS PICK 10 for THIS years pick 10 is awesome.

Clearly better player than SPP.
SPP may have that crash and bash but Taranto isn't limited to a role.

What the hell are you talking about? SPP a better "finisher" than Taranto, when the big knock on SPP is his finishing and that's no-where near the case for Taranto?

You then say we don't need "inside mids" like Taranto (who can play pretty much anywhere), but then you say you want Drew, who is much more of a pure "inside mid" than Taranto?

You're just blowing a whole lot of hot air. Which of course is almost certainly your aim. How long do you think you'll last before you get banned this time?

Do you have to continually argue the point just because you think you know better?
Almost certainly just trolling. Remember the character that derailed thread after thread on the D&T board a year or two ago like Chris did in the draft rumours thread the other day? Exact same MO.

Funny - was thinking the exact same thing....

he's a genuine winger for me that will break the lines. he will know where to run to be the link up player. he's a more offensive version of gaff/brad hill, albeit it without the tank of a gaff

just dont expect him to be a newnes/mckenzie type. newnes will look to punish the opposition defencively and mckenzie is one that is pretty fearless at times

bolton is more outside but gee can he turn games/do the remarkable. he's a more offensive winger than say mckenzie or newnes

Do you have any footage outside of his highlights vs the Allies?

I liked the sound of him from reading up but watching that clip he has some issues. His marking is very good and he laid a great run down tackle but there are at least 3 handballs straight to a team mate under the pump and some of his kicking is pretty poor. The kick out where he plays on and goes long to a nothing target was a WTF moment to be in a package like that.

Reminded me of Sammy Gilbert to be honest!

How often would you say he played on the wing opposed to as a small forward?

screw the blues is your man to ask. he has some involvement at boltons WAFL club and would have watched him week in/week out at souths

if we did get bolton i think he could have a similar path to the midfield as a gresham or billings, where he spends the majority of his early days in the fwd line until he transitions onto the wing when his size and tank gets right

screw the blues where does he originate from in WA? is he a country boy who moved down from one of your zones? is there homesickness issues here?
