Take with a grain of salt as I don't know how many mistruths are leaked from our recruiters but have heard from two very decent sources in last 24 hours that there's two WA boys and a Vic mid sized player in our sights at 23.
SPP Bolton Florent is my guess :thumbsu::D

So SPP, Cox, Bolton and Rotham most likely the WA players, the VIC player is a bit harder to pin down. Galluci/Florent maybe?

My guess is the Vic Player is Ridley and two WA boys are Bolton and Rotham.

I don't want any player who has the go home factor which some of and I stress some of the WA boys seem to have. Trout and his team will sort the wheat from the chaff in that regard. FWIW SPP is not one of those from all accounts. I like Ridley although not sure he makes it to 23.

My main man aussierulesrules has convinced me about SPP so I'm on that train as he realistically will be available at our pick....

Less than 24 hours before we know pick 23 and 36, (and likely 61 too)

I'm pumped peeps!!

That would be Sam Powell Pepper & Shai Bolton (WA) & Ollie Florent/ and or mixture of Venables,Drew & Clarke etc

I'd like Ridley or SPP. But should Florent, Galluci or the like slide, we don't even think twice. Just take 'em

Depth.

As I've said previously, unless we were going to be taking someone with a ceiling of Marshall, I'd rather we spent say our 2nd pick on some KPD depth, so that if we get any injuries to the likes of Paddy/Bruce/Skunk, we can move Carlisle or Goddard forward until they return. Or Riewoldt, in the short term.

Makes a lot more sense to me than spending our first pick on someone we'd be hoping we don't have to play much for the next 8 years, as they don't look to be an obvious upgrade on any of Paddy, Bruce or Skunk.
I feel exactly the same way..

Would be good to get a key forward with a later pick to develop for depth, but would be really disappointed if we burnt our first pick on an undersized key forward when we've got Paddy/Bruce/Membrey already in the side aged 24 and under and each capable of kicking 50+ goals a year in the future.

Having said that, after the last 3 drafts our recruiters have really earned our trust and I will try to back them in with whatever options they go with.

haha how pathetic can you get
In the most recent one, he found an old quote of mine from months ago on Boyd, where I said what a shocker of a deal it's turned out to be when you consider that if they hadn't traded for Boyd, they would almost certainly instead have drafted Peter Wright, Jake Lever and maybe another of the top 10 from that draft and would have had a shit-tonne of free salary cap space- from not only not having to pay Boyd a mil a year (compared to 2MP, who is at least as good as him, who they could have re-signed for less than half that!), but also not having to pay Ryan Griffen about a million dollars to play for GWS!

People will say that they won the flag with Boyd, so it's worth it, but would they have not won it if they instead had Wright up forward and Lever down back and the salary cap space to go after more "big fish" in the meantime?

It might cost them two more premierships down the track!

In my opinion we won't be taking C.Cox or Battle with 23, Venables or Ben Long is my thought. Happy with either, both good players with high ceilings, it's like Christmas Eve for us football lovers. Trust in Trout and Co to get it right again !

If we call out SALT-Pepper or Bolton tomorrow I'll be bery happy and no disappointment at all.

How about both?

I mean no one thought Balic, Mathieson would go so late did they :p

Interestingly the experts didn't thing Mathierson would go as early as we thought he would.
Interestingly his actual footy has been great compared to many who went earlier.
