Yeah the draft bios claim these guys are KPP forward/defenders, but looking at their build and pace, I'm thinking these guys are as much KPP's as the 190cm Andy Otten - they're the new prototype tall midfielders.

Even Craig, listed at 195cm as a ruckman, won't be playing ruck in the AFL unless he grows another 2+ inches.

Is anybody else in on the Crows live chat?

How annoying is Jenny T?! She is so negative in every chat :thumbsd:
not on it, but i've been getting updates from SYmsey15 and I've been laughing at her anyway

she's that person here who was going on about us needing to take ready made players who can win us the premiership

Just read the Adelaide Live Chat. Oh Boy, I 100% agree with past comments about a particular poster. Obviously watched some YouTube clips and formed set opinions. The National Draft is about securing a clubs future, not about topping up with players to win a premiership the next season.

Crows players 190cm+:

Griffin
Tippett
Moran
Maric
McKernan
Sellar
Davis
Craig
Bock
Stevens
Talia
Hentschel
Young
Otten
Walker
Donnelly
Rutten
Gunston
Shaw
Henderson

Wow. That's 20 players

There is a lot of trade bait for the GC there, considering they are going to need some quality talls.... perhaps the plan to start with since last draft? We may get some good picks over the next couple of years when others can't.

Otherwise what on earth are we going to do with that many talls...

I knew it was going to be entertaining when I started reading and right after we picked up Talia saw the comment "hes a KPP....we needed a midfielder.." :D

Seriously, imagine if this was Rendell's first draft? We'd all be spitting chips :p

Our talls from the last 2 drafts are so versatile thought, I still haven't seen anyone be able to pidgeon hole Davis, Smack, Young (maybe a back now, but FB HBF CHB) Talia, Gunston or Craig as 1 or even 2 possy players.

Craig loves that shit.

Adelaide
List manager Matt Rendell
“We had a good mixture of midfielders and talls and as it turned out a lot of the midfielders went early, which was a bit of a surprise.

“We ended up with three utilities and a ruckman.

“Talia, Gunston and Shaw are all versatile players that will serve us well. The ruckman, James Craig, we liked last year. He will be very useful even though it wasn’t vital for us to get a ruckman this year.”

Interesting that Rendell refers to Talia as a utility.

Adelaide Football Club - The Land of Giants! :D :thumbsu:

Seriously are any of our draftees able to play as midfielders or at least flankers?! :p

I have learned over the last couple of years not to question Rendell but I certainly didn't expect to draft 4 players over 191 cm! :D

In Rendell we trust! :thumbsu:

The general consensus is that we did well in the quality of player that we picked up.

I was against using our 2nd round pick for an under-sized ruckman in Craig, but at pick 61, you're not risking much for a chance to turn him into a KPP.

I would have liked at least one mid-fielder though. We have an absolute forest of talls and it doesn't take Einstein to work out that Craig is building up a tall quick team as his prototype.

However, somebody's got to kick it to them out of the middle and I don't think that we have an excess of quality mids.

Apparently we missed out on the good ones and we have to trust Rendell with that. Pity, because I was hoping for at least one - after %#$#@%& West Coast took Sheppard at 7 instead of Jetta.

You'd have to think that we'd be looking at the smaller types in the rookie draft. Players along the lines of Ah Chee. Quick players who can kick goals. Developing mid-fielders etc.

What pick do we have in rookie draft?

What pick do we have in rookie draft?

Would be 12, 28 and 44 - assuming everyone else takes a minimum of 3 rookies.

*** This doesn't take into account GC taking the first 5 rookies
*** Also doesn't include Brisbane & Sydney taking rookies as zone recruits - these are optional anyway.
