Trading Luke Ball full stop would be criminal let alone for a first round pick. Once he gets over OP, if he ever does, he will show everyone just how damn good he is. Thats a ridiculous comment catzfan

yeh but balls done SFA since the 2001! draft
Yeah, and we all hope geelong smash everyone on the way to the g/f only to lose! All the pressures on them now.

Luke Ball

2007 Co-Captain
2006 Captain
2005 Best & Fairest
2005 ALL AUSTRALIAN
2004 2nd in Best & Fairest
2004 International Rules Series
2004 Pre-season premiership side
2003 AFL Rising star nominee

Which current Geelong player has done better?

People forget just how how good a fit luke ball is. Look at how sh1t judd is with his op problems - he has to play up forward, can't play on the ball. I'd say ball has been a much better player than judd when comparing them with their op respectively. Luke ball is freak and after a full pre-season will have a great year in 2008.

Judd's problems are definitely not restricted to OP. His hip is totally ****ed, hence removing his core strength.

Was not having a go at judd, merely drawing a comparison b/n the two to show how a groin/op/core problem can debilitiate a player.

When we see how judd has performed toward the end of the season, it gives us perspective that luke ball has performed well all season despite his groin being absolutely routed.

Nor is Luke Balls problems restricted to OP, as far as I am aware he also suffers from tendinitus of the adductor muscle. Whatever the case may be, the effects are pretty much identical - both have lost their explosion of speed, their ability to kick over a tin jar and their respective coaches continue to play them because the medical staff wont rule them out as apparently rest wont do them any good

I read some time earlier that the club is interested in Cyril Rioli, who is fast and clever, a mid fielder that is dangerous near goals. I would like to see us pick him up or Rance, whoever is still available at pick 9. Then with our 2nd pick (26) take the best big defender or midfielder, whichever we did not take with pick 9. With Pick 42, the best ruckman left, hopefully a tall one. From then on take the best available player. With our rookie picks, I would like to see us take a midfielder, a ruckman, and a key position player, all for future development.

i like the sound of rance.

BUT

we must get a short ruckman (or even a forward) n then turn them into backs as young backs more often then not dont turn out to be any good. (remember essendon delisting the AA u18 full back last year after one year or something)

glass and rutten were once forwards now are both full backs.
