I can't see it...when has WH ever used a first pick on a mature ager?

Tape is 191cm which is fine for a KPD, not ideal but still tall enough. He plays more as a shut down defender so I wouldn't really be worried about him being a 3rd tall but he now looks likely to be gone by our pick anyway.
Word is we have our eye on a couple of mature age selections, but no one seems to know who they are.
Mature age selection at pick 18 - surely not??

Good, keep them all to ourselves !!!!!!!
A mature KPD to (at least temporarily) stabilize our defence and some midfield back up would be perfect IMO. Would Myles still be around for what, #67 ???

Sorry Bb7 I thought you were talking about pick 18. Sounds good for a late pick in this draft especially if the young talent thins out after picks 50+No no, you misunderstand me.
I mean for our later selections like 67, 70 and possibly as early as 42.
I was just entertaining general draft discussion.
Forgot this was the pick 18 thread.![]()
Quayle seems to think that Hibberd could be either going to Carlton or Hawthorn. Considering I have heard the Hibberd to Carlton one a number of times it wouldn't surprise me to see him taken with a late pick.
Sewell is more likely a mature age rookie pick at this stage.
The rumour going around (I think it was BIB) was that there is a mature age KPD in the WAFL that we are looking at for another late pick.
That WAFL matured aged player could be Murphy from Freo??
I can't see it happening either, but if it were to happen I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
I'd love Isaac Smith at 18 if we selected him. I couldn't give a **** if he's a couple of years older than most other nominees.
had jetta too for our pick.. just didnt think lucas would drop past 10Nah mate it was Cruiser, but in saying that I had Lucas ahead of Jetta. It was a line ball decision. I could have mounted a very good argument for Jetta being selected. He would add a heap of speed, line breaking skills and even if he did kick 18 behinds before his goal, he is a goal kicking threat.
I was the same, once WCE passed him at 7 I was riding every pick. Let out a huge roar when Melbourne Gysbertsed their pick up.had jetta too for our pick.. just didnt think lucas would drop past 10

m pretty sure the mature aged players will come in later in the draft with late picks.... if they come.![]()
so you thought youd cover it again champ?Pretty sure that's been covered champ.![]()
I wouldn't have thought so, he's bloody useless.
If he available at 18, WH may have a quandary on his hands.
Under certain circumstances I just can't see the fear in selecting a 21y.o. early in a draft.
This kid has some attributes most teams would love. No tears from these quarters if this surprise falls our way.
Agreed. I would be more than happy with Smith.
My preference is for McCarthy, Darling or a highly rated mid at #18 and Chalwell at #34, although I'm worried that West Coast might snare Chalwell with #29...
Apparently only WC and Coll have talked to Chalwell and it seems he might go fairly late on Thursday
Would leave every expert bar the recruiters dumbfounded if he slides like Panos, Gourdis and Austin Lucy.Whoever pumped up his tyres needs a pat on the back, he is slowly getting an amazing BF following.
