Well, Arrow, Soapy and La Dispute have sold me on Ridley for our second. My vote has been cast. I would still like it if Hayward could sneak past the Adelaide teams though.

You make a good point
It is not out of the question a player perceived by the masses as a better prospect drifts to our pick
Especially in this draft as it is said to be so even, you can almost count on some surprise picks under 25

personally I believe he is more in the mould of a Jack Gunston. Extremely strong overhead, strong quick hands, beautiful kick, smooth mover and solid tank, who will find the ball, leading up hard on a wing. The reason, I have doubts of him being a midfielder, is that he is ranked in the bottom 10% for tackles and contested ball.
I don't think the priority should be for a "Poised utility". That said, best available and all.
In a Ridley vs Josh Battle battle, who would win?

Gunston? Interesting Arrow. I would have never of thought that. For me he is a bit of an Andrew Mackie with the time and poise of a Pendlebury. Add Gunston and he is very adaptable.Started to have a small run in the middle late in the year and did some good things. Could easily be a star HB or mid for mine. Whatever position for me he is a tall running player that uses the ball very well. He's what we need plus a heap of mids.
We may differ on the position he may play, but we are on the same page as to his quality![]()
Agree. I really rate players that have time and use the ball well. Something that can't be coached. I think it's an area we really lack all around the ground. How exciting to see Ridley running off HB with Docherty Byrne etc supporting Weitering/Marchbank delivering to SPS & Cripps who feed it to Pickett who delivers to McKay Curnow or Silvagni.![]()
