All the talk seems to be between SPS Brodie & Taranto. Happy with any of them for different reasons. Very interested to see what SOS does. In the end we just want the best talent with all our picks.

Yeah any of these lads would be a great outcome, Brodie is a little blue collar and probably has the lower celling of the three.
it's very difficult to split SPS and Taranto such a high celling for both these boys it's just tantalizing.
But if SOS and Bolton are happy to go with Brodie I'll embrace the Bull version IIm and we'll be a better show of getting our hands on the ball first in the middle.
I'm quietly wishing for SPS thought , let's see how it goes.

Fascinating just how far Brodie has dropped from our sights. :)

It's hard to see anyone else's name, other than Petrevski-Seton being read out on Friday night............but it could happen.

Goes to show how useful another pick in the top 10 would have been. GCS' draft presence plus the lack of Vic clubs could well have seen us snaring a Brodie/Scrimshaw/Florent with a slightly later pick.

I would be happy with SPS even if he only averaged 18 disposals over his career. They will be 18 of the most damaging disposals every game. I would rather his 18 over someone like Brodie's 25+. Quality over Quantity
He averaged 18 disposals at the Champs where, IIRC, he played one game after resuming from injury.

A mix between Daniel Kerr and Jack Steven. Closer to Kerr

Thank you, thank you....bl*^#y Daniel Kerr.....been trying to rummage through the ruins of my alcohol riddled long term memory without success to find the player SPS reminds me of

Let's hope SPS stays away from the horse gear!!!

Could Brodie be another Rich?

Great first year compared to others drafted at the same time, seems a bit vanilla now with the ceiling barely above where he started out. A safe option but not the best long term prospect.

In all fairness to Brodie, he will play a lot of football. Some say he could be JPK, others say Barlow. For me I see signs that concern me

As I have stated previously, I see him being rated from 10 to 18, long term, which is still a very good footballer

I'd be thrilled with Brodie. Not much between them. Recent comprehensive phantoms have shed light on some of the queries I had on SPS so I am warming to that idea. Also a reminder of how hard goalkicking mid are to find means I would be fine with Taranto too.

We can't lose with McCluggage, McGrath, Ainsworth, Taranto, SPS, Brodie or Setterfield really. Reckon we can sit back and enjoy the first round.

How would we have got that extra top 10 pick? Losing Gibbs for13 and another pick next year and trading up 13? Our midfield is not good enough to lose Gibbs.

If we 're willing to let Gibbs go next year the Crows will hand over their 1st rounder, very easily.
It will land a quality tall, next year's draft has an abundance of classy KP players in the top 20 , very happy with that outcome.
Silvagni has handle very difficult situation well and guarded our interest , CFC was not compromised.
Go Baggers

I can't see us passing on Petrevski-Seton.

Get him into a professional environment where he can focus on footy and sky's the limit.

The only thing I don't like about Brodie is his face. If he looked like setterfield or Taranto I would rate him a lot higher

Of the 6 players listed to be chosen from I would prefer Brodie, followed by SPS, Setterfield and Scrimshaw. Haven't seen any of them play but it does seem to me that Taranto and Hayward have not been starting midfielders at the under-age level. At pick 5 I want someone who is tested as a starting midfielder. If they can't make it there they might still make it as a small forward/defender.

Taranto and Hayward look pretty at the underage level against other juniors. Such players often struggle to convert that prettiness to senior level. An example of this is Yarran, who was a controversial pick 5 in the draft. For the reasons given above I did not want him (preferred Ziebel or Sidebottom). As it happens Yarran justified pick 5 in his playing ability (other, quite unknown factors at the time of his recruiting have now intervened) but he was never as safe a pick as the other 2. The other 4 I am quietely confident will make it as AFL players. Taranto and Hayward are too big a risk for the potential reward.
