Of the 6 players listed to be chosen from I would prefer Brodie, followed by SPS, Setterfield and Scrimshaw. Haven't seen any of them play but it does seem to me that Taranto and Hayward have not been starting midfielders at the under-age level. At pick 5 I want someone who is tested as a starting midfielder. If they can't make it there they might still make it as a small forward/defender.
Taranto and Hayward look pretty at the underage level against other juniors. Such players often struggle to convert that prettiness to senior level. An example of this is Yarran, who was a controversial pick 5 in the draft. For the reasons given above I did not want him (preferred Ziebel or Sidebottom). As it happens Yarran justified pick 5 in his playing ability (other, quite unknown factors at the time of his recruiting have now intervened) but he was never as safe a pick as the other 2. The other 4 I am quietely confident will make it as AFL players. Taranto and Hayward are too big a risk for the potential reward.
Scrimshaw is flanker, so more speculative than the 3 you have mentioned above in terms of true midfielder. Although I do believe he will transition as a midfielder, still untried though.
Yarran was never a contested ball winner unlike say Taranto, who is ranked highly for contested possesions and even Hayward has shown he can win his own football, but is a reach at 5 in my opinion
