Some quality WA boys, that is for sure.

Really hope the rubbish (harsh, but my opinion) of Kerr at 25 is just pure romance, because we could add another quality midfielder at this pick.

Agreed.
Don't think we need Kerr, especially at 25.

I think my preference has literally changed in the following order -

Brodie (stoked if he falls to us)
Taranto (bolter all rounder)
SPS (x factor)
Brodie (inside mid required)
SPS (Brodie doesnt defend and less room for improvement)
Taranto (back to going after a bolter with more scope for improvement, SPS can go missing)
Scrimshaw (seems to have plenty of scope for improvement and could be something)
Taranto (Scrimshaw may not be able to play mid and we our tall defenders is pretty covered now)

Who knows where I will end up in the next few days!

think the bombers will select McCluggage to replace Watson.
Thus GWS getting their man in McGrath.
Brisbane to get Ainsworth. hope they bid on Bowes first to stuff Suns
Suns to get a free hit on Taranto, Brodie or SPS if no bid comes for Bowes
if bowes is bid on by Lions, Blues to select Taranto. if gone we select SPS

!
This came from one post on this board and it's not even close to being true. He's known for being a gut runner and averaged nearly five tackles a game in the TAC cup.

I think he defends, but you would have to concede, still low numbers for an inside mid
No, they are not. As well as that the TAC cup has nowhere near the amount of stoppages and contests as the AFL does so the players don't get as many tackles. That's a guarantee.

They are low numbers for an inside mid

It's more than first choice on ballers like Cunnington, Ward and Dangerfield averaged last year in the contest ruled AFL. They're not low tackle numbers at all, two other good players finishing ahead of him doesn't make them low numbers at all. That's like saying Gunston and Riewoldt have low goal kicking tallies.

A total of four Carton players averaged more tackles than Brodie this year. Well and truly more than Cripps in his draft year which was less than three tackles per game.

You make some valid points

But I am not comparing any kid to current AFL players, comparing it to his cohorts in the TAC Cup, for a guy that is a pure inside mid, my humble opinion is that they are low tackle numbers.

I also said that I do believe he does defend, when he doesn't have the ball

You compared him to two players. When he steps up into the AFL with the increase in stoppages and contests his tackle numbers will grow significantly, especially with the way he gut runs from contest to contest.

My original point was his lack of a defensive side is a myth created on this board and is not shared with recruiters.

The comparisons could go on all night, as you compared him to 3 AFL players, I could compare him to another 50

I am sure his tackle numbers will grow, as will the stats of other like footballers, coming from junior competitions.

And my original point was, it had nothing to do with a lack of his defensive side, it was stating that currently, I believe his tackle numbers are low for a pure inside mid in the TAC, compared to other kids in the TAC

I can see why EP pulled the pin on this place, you can't fix stupid. I'm done on this board.
