The easy thing to do is wash our hands of a tough situation by not recruiting "flight risks" (unsure about that term, makes them sound like they are applying for bail). If we're using go-home factor as a filter then we are limiting ourselves as a club and a desirable place to work. We have toiled hard on our multi-cultural and gender issues - still are I hope. It strikes me that part of the evolution of our club as an integral part of society is that we seek change and support those who struggle away from the places they recognize and feel attached to. We have the opportunity to become a positive influence in this important, on-going work. We won't always get it right but 'too hard' doesn't strike me as much of a mission statement.

:tldr

charming.....man has half his leg hanging off and faces unbridled aggression and abuse.....

Are you suggesting this aggression will (can) not stand?

Ps - hope you're ok, Thy.

I like how Silvagni in that podcast just sneaked Scrimshaw's name in at the end of a list of possible names for pick five. Maybe Jimmae will get his wish after all and Thy won't become extinct.
It was almost an afterthought, but who knows what mind games he might be playing.

Nothing weak about a person who has moments of struggle. If anything the old way of "Be a man, gut it out" probably put more men in the ground than we would even like to guess.

If we draft a kid and he has a time where he is finding it hard to cope with any issue be it personal/mental etc their is immense character to be found in those that speak up.

Yarran still one of the best pick 6 to have played the game.

Only a couple have made it to 100 games.

I seriously think we should pick up Taranto with pick 5. Proven big game player. His numbers for Sandringham are seriously impressive. A midfielder who can win contested ball and kick goals??.

Brodie for me. I think he is the safe bet and could walk in to best 22.

I think SPS is a risk. Talented. But questions on work ethic scare me and an interstate boy. We just don't need that risk...

I feel that we may want Taranto but GC may get in first, as I can't see a bid for Bowes coming from the top three clubs.

Really seems as though it may be SPS for us......unless SOS can play some game, even though he hasn't got much to play with.
