No, he didn't mention the players Twomey already mentioned, that was the point.Well SOS didn't mention SP-S did he on Nat & 2me's podcast?
Reads like he's just guessing with the Taranto comment. So in an article last week Callum Twomey says Carlton is linked to Sam Petrevski-Seton at pick 5, and today he says Carlton's dream draft is Setterfield (if GWS does not match), and Taranto. See:

I reckon they'd give up Perryman before Setterfield. If the AFL strip GWS of 2 picks can't see Them matching Setterfield at 5.
So, give me some info on this bloke in comparance to sps, Taranto etc etc

Brisbane have pick 3, but otherwise, yes.We need Brisbane to force GC to take Bowes at pick 2. They won't take Bowes at 4, if they can get him with 1 of the other top 10 pics. Forcing them to take him at 2 with their 4th is to our advantage.

That's basically the old system, but with points, except now there's not really much reason to have the points.I think a reform would be to keep the points system but to allow other clubs to nominate how many points they are willing to use pre-draft on a player and then the academy club can match the bid with the points discount included. In effect a draft before the draft but using a points aggregate instead of draft position. It would be messy but it could be worked out.
It's not the same as the old system because the academy clubs still have to pay their fair share as it doesn't favour clubs that finished higher on the ladder. Each bid would have to match the points aggregate of existing picks in the draft but can be accumulated and it allows every club to have a chance at a player instead of just two. That's basically the old system, but with points, except now there's not really much reason to have the points.
If the points table needs to be adjusted, so be it, but think of it as a currency that can be traded upon vs. draft position.
They need to bring in live trading of picks IMO.

It's pretty clear he's heard whispers of SPS to Carlton, while the Setterfield / Taranto selection is his personal opinion of who Carlton need.So in an article last week Callum Twomey says Carlton is linked to Sam Petrevski-Seton at pick 5, and today he says Carlton's dream draft is Setterfield (if GWS does not match), and Taranto. A few GWS fans seem to think Setterfield will be a bit of a flight risk as he is well settled in Melbourne. If we bid pick 5 on him and they lose picks 15 and 37 it will give them food for thought, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't match. They have a lot of list spots to fill.I reckon they'd give up Perryman before Setterfield.
They'll probably give up Sproule as well if that happens and they're worried about paying all the points. That said, they've got a few future picks for exactly this scenario. Someone needs to bid fair value for Macreadie to really make them earn it, however.
Please let Setterfield not be matched. That would be a huge bonus
Is anyone of the belief Taranto could be a permanent midfielder from day dot or do you believe he'll always be someone who has to play mid and forward?
