That would be an absolutely outstanding result.

Ive come around to McKenzie & hope he comes into the mix for pick 21/22.

Seems little doubt CP will be a Saint

Last night trained in a pair of news saints shorts we gave him, apparently when he trained with with us recently...

He is reportedly as really nice guy, pretty modest even though it is pretty clear he will be #1
Huge thighs... Massive

Gonna have another go as my last one is pretty much no chance of happening

  • Pick 1: Petracca
  • Pick 21: Ellis
  • Pick 22: Marchbank
  • Pick 41: Cavka

Marchbank....

I don't want us to draft an undersized KD or a tall kid to play mid, who has played most junior rep footy as a tall.

He seems a classic third...

Those players, you only need a few of

1 - Christian Petracca
21 - Corey Ellis
22 - Reece McKenzie
41 – Oscar McDonald

Super silder draft
1 - Petracca
21 - Wright
22 - Durdin
41 - R.McKenize

Draft on name value
1 - Petracca
21 - Cockatoo
22 - Viojo-Rainbow
41 - Hammelmann

Pick 1: Peter WRIGHT
Pick 21: Tom LAMB
Pick 22: Caleb DANIEL
Pick 41: Billy EVANS
I know this was meant to be a comical pick by you, but I still see Wright as a reasonable choice as the number one pick. I reckon we will take the safe route and choose Petracca and I look forward to the wonderful things he will do for us. But in the long term, 2 metre Peter may turn out to be a superstar FF that you could build a team around.
My philosophy is not that different from yours, in that I think we have an opportunity to fill our KPP needs now and have them developing while we recruit mids in subsequent drafts. There are always great mids coming through. The reservation I feel is that Petracca may well be a special player, one you would kick yourself for overlooking in your attempts to recruit for need (and we NEED KPP's)

Minor plug for my man Keitel thrown in here just to keep him topical

I agree to a pretty large degree; both are oddly boom-or-bust, which is always an issue with the top couple of picks.

Watts for example only looks so ordinary because he went at pick 1 and Natinui went after him (although I reckon NicNat is thunderously overrated; Hartlett was the best 1st rounder in that draft IMO).

If Petracca ends up the player we hope then great, but if someone blows past him then we'll cop it. On the flip side, if we take Wright and he becomes Tipett crossed with Roo then we'll be geniuses; if not then odds-on Petracca becomes a superstar and we cop it.

Pick 1 is a bit of a poisoned chalice that way.

Hartlett was touch and go for a while. Could never get on the park
