That's cause it's wrong. Trengove would easily be the equal of Hamish Hartlett last year.

He's a footballer's footballer. He's no Usain Bolt but like DalSanto and Pendlebury, no one can catch them. And IMO he's a touch quicker then them.
Playing SANFL and doing really well..

I disagree, but it's my opinion, and you have no way to prove it wrong.

Hartlett was an outstanding prospect last year, a similar but better player than Trengove. Hartlett was only taken at 4 because PA had that pick, Ziebell was on a level with and probably higher than Hartlett imo.
Trengove is not as good as Ziebell, skip Phil Davis as a KP and the next mid taken was Sidebottom at 11.
Sidebottoms Tac year >>>>>>> Trengove's SANFL form.
As for Trengove's pace, I don't really rate it, but that's just my opinion.

Scully and Trengrove are my favourites if not Scully and Butch.

I believe a roughie might be Jarryd Cachia, my brother played skevs ones this year and i went down to watch a few games. He captained vic metro in Under 16 but someone told me he had fall out with under 18s coach which is why he didnt make carnival (only a source!). Wat I've seen from him is impressive; he's an average height but a very solid unit, great leap and mark, tremendous pace and his tackling is first rate. The kicking skills are very good on each and he can kick goals up forward. Just on wat I've seen him do I believe he can play top football. The only question is will he get into draft camp? If he does he's the player to watch. My guess if he does do draft camp he'll be 30+ in the draft. still worth a look.

I would take Beats write-up with a grain of salt. There are some terrible calls he has made.

Trengove wouldn't have gone top 10 last year? He is a better SA junior than Hartlett and he went at 4. Over here he is playing SANFL and not just chipping in - he is a strong contributor for Sturt and actually had a dominant game where he was probably BOG.

Butcher = Fevola?
Morabito = Rodan?
wtf?

It was all in my opinion, and in my opinion I believe that Hartlett has more upside and was a better overall player with better skills and ability to mark. And if I had to slot him in with a like for a like in last years draft, I'd swap him with Sidebottom, because I rate Ziebell higher.
Apart from the obvious height differences in those comparisons I think they are reasonably accurate, currently Butcher is a lead up player, and if we were to draft him that's the role I see him playing.
Aside from the distinct height advantage that Morabito has over Rodan, I don't see how they are dissimilar, wtf @ you for thinking they are, both run and carry players with excellent pace and x factor best suited to running the wings, I'm not saying it's right, but Rodan was the first player that came to my mind when thinking about that sort of style.

And before you tell me I've done a terrible job, the only time you can tell me that is at the end of their careers, I call it as I see it. For now please gtfo.

Surely Scully is a lock at no.1.

Then the big decision is (at this stage) between Trengrove and Butcher and it would be interesting to see if the MFC believed Trengrove is a slightly better footballer, but Butcher filled a bigger hole, which way they would go.

Right at this stage, I'd go Butcher, solely because we drafted two very highly rated midfielders last year (Blease and Strauss) who should be quality additions along with Scully, while we're still crying out for a big bodied KPF who can allow Watts, Jurrah, Bate etc to blossom.

Lock in Scully for No. 1

If we get pick 2 or 3, I'm not sold on Butcher...

Didn't he say recently that he does not want to play for a team that tanks?? I don't think we are, but plenty of people do and he might be one of them. I don't want someone in the team who doesn't want to be there. Add to that the fact many people are saying he is arrogant and self-obsessed, then I don't think he's the right choice. Use our second round pick on a KPP.

For me Trengove seems to be the best option for No. 2. My motto? Pick the best available player

There is a great argument against that theory in Emma Quayle's book. What if at every pick you have in the draft the best player available is a tap ruckman?

We should get what we need.

I was only talking about the first two picks, particularly if we get a PP.

And yes I do agree that we would need to have SOME consideration of our needs. By the way, would Trengove ever be able to play forward or likely to chip in for a few goals? The player he is being compared to (Riccuito - sp?) kicked plenty of bags.

I think he would meet our needs. We need STAR players in the midfield. I'm talking building a midfield similar to Geelong/St Kilda. I believe Watts and Jurrah will be the stars in the forward line. Bate too I think still has untapped superstar potential

I disagree.. he is a handy 3rd forward. Cant think of many 3rd forwards who were superstars. But on that note I wouldn't mind seeing Bate play more on the wing, because he has a terrific motor.

Good call, Remember watching him last year as a year 11 dominate my school. Havent seen any matches of him this year but could be a late pick up. Heard rumours that his attitude might not be there, but hopefully we could sort that out. One to look at, if he isnt one of those players who just dominated because they were manchilds.

I'm another who disagrees with your 'assertions'. But at least you're one of the few to spell Trengove correctly. How long before supporters stop putting an 'R' in his name ?

Trengove is all class. I rate him higher than Ziebell. He actually reminds me a bit of a young Jimmy Bartel.

I think we're counting our chickens before they've hatched a little here. Big game tomorrow.

EDIT: I think tomorrow that we will get smashed by around 10 goals with Freo beating Port and barring StKilda resting 22 of their best, and Fev, Juddy and Bryce Gibbs slipping off the face of the earth pick 1 and 2 will be ours.
