Yes. Friday afternoon brain rot. Apologies. So 9 and 11 for 16 and 46and a swap of picks late.
Carlton getting absolutely torched there.
Unless you've left out the future 1st from crows as well

Thats a horrific deal for Carlton. We wouldn't have points to match bids this year on Dean + Ison.I would ok if the trade looked something like this.
Blues give:
Picks 9, 11 and F3
Crows give:
Picks 16, Future first, 48, Future 2nd
But only if one of Cumming or Sharp is there at 9. Otherwise I don't think it's worth it.
They might come in two spots. They come in a bit on draft night and Carl may just want the extra few points that's all it is for them if they go that way. Alternatively they may decide to soak pick 9 and take 11 and get a slider themselves.

How did Adelaide end up with pick 16 when they finished top of the ladder?
They might come in two spots.
When a kid is bid on, the first pick the matching team holds, moves up to where the bid is made.
With the two Gold Coast kids, 25 & 26 will only move up one spot. And that's if GC don't manage to trade one of their picks.
Same with Annable at Brisbane, one pick moves up, the other pick slides back.
Those late picks won't come in much, before Carlton probably has to use at least 48 matching a bid on Dean.I'm surprised this seems to be the strong consensus, I don't think we finish better next year than this year, we had a pretty good draw this year with not many of our away games against the good teams.
IMO Carlton would jump at this deal, but I think you are right that there needs to be a bit more negotiation, say all the rest of Adelaide's points this year (currently pick 48 and 55 - both which will come in for more points than current position) - and maybe a f3 or f4 back to Adelaide. Would that be enough?
This deal can't be the answer to all your points needs, Carlton would have to still push futures around to get this done.
BTW this is reported in the paper today, not my made up rumour!
That was about Sharp.Melbourne will pick Robey if hes there nothing surer.
You won’t get both 9 and 11 for thatAdelaide will offer pick 16 and F1 for Carlton pick 9 and 11 if Schubert is still available on the night, particularly if a bid comes in before pick 9.
Carlton get their man Dean and instead of sliding to pick 20+ with pick 11, they get valuable points for 2026 to guarantee Cody Walker should he go top 2.
And get to death ride crom.
Dont think as many of those guys are heavily rated top 6 like 4 of the prospects this year but alot can change as seen by Deans move in and Mcguanes serious move outIt's not like there aren't any father son or academy kids in next years draft.
There could be anywhere from 4 to 7 or 8 club tied kids in the first round.
Cody Walker tied to Carlton.
Lucas Robinson tied to Freo.
Tanner Armstrong tied to Richmond.
Aidan McCartney tied to both North & Sydney.
Caylen Murray tied to Brisbane.
Ethan Matthews tied to GWS.
Then there's Dougie Cochrane who might be approved to Port.
So there's every chance Adelaide's F1 is just as poor or worse, than this years first round pick.
So there definitely needs to be a fair bit added by Adelaide in any pick swap with Carlton.
Then there's potentially 4 to 8 more club tied players that are second or third round prospects.
Adelaide's F2 could well be in to the 40's when we factor in compensation picks in to next years draft as well
They dont have 2027 F2Only way i see this deal getting done is
Adelaide give up #16 + F1
Carlton give up #9 + 2027 F2
Not sure how that gets done if both # + #11 are traded outThey dont have 2027 F2
The latest article i read actually suggest they chasing both 9 and 11
Link?They dont have 2027 F2
The latest article i read actually suggest they chasing both 9 and 11
Not sure how that gets done if both # + #11 are traded out
#16 + #43 + #55 are the only 2 picks worth points and Carlton only have #43+#54 total 1224 points
Dean & Ison will need atleast 1800-1900 and probably more leaving a 600 deficit and eating away next years F1
Crows will need to do some amazing trading to get some points for this year with futures
Would beLink?
They fall way short for points and there F1 gets pushed backWould be
16 + F1 + 48 + 55 for 9 and 11
Lets have a look, depends when the bid comesThey fall way short for points and there F1 gets pushed back
I think the Crows would need to come up with more points for this year
We can't go into deficit next year or we risk missing on Walker or having to trade additional picks into that draft to match him.Lets have a look, depends when the bid comes
At time of bid (Post 2 suns and Lion)
~Picks 18, 38, 42, 45, 46 = ~1617 points
They probably dont care about deficits on Ison Round 2 onwards as they dont have future 2nd or 3rd
Believe you dont go into deficit with your 1st as long as the ison bid is not night 1We can't go into deficit next year or we risk missing on Walker or having to trade additional picks into that draft to match him.
16 + a 2nd from somewhere + Future 1st and it may work out points wise but 16 + a couple of late picks isn't going to be enough for us to match Dean and Ison.
To be honest we'd be better just keeping the hand we currently have over doing that deal.
Guess that depends on where the bid on Dean comes. If he's going to cop a bid in the top 5 like the media have alluded to then we'd be in deficit before we even got to a bid on Ison.Believe you dont go into deficit with your 1st as long as the ison bid is not night 1
Youd lose your 4th rounder next year, that would be it
But assume this trade doesnt take place unless Dean hasnt been bid on at a certain point (probably post pick 6)
Im thinking it comes around pick#8 onward from BombersGuess that depends on where the bid on Dean comes. If he's going to cop a bid in the top 5 like the media have alluded to we'd be in deficit before we even got to a bid on Ison.
Got to remember an essendon bid if the 3 bids come prior, their picks move out to 8 and 9 (and im not sure wed bid tbh)Guess that depends on where the bid on Dean comes. If he's going to cop a bid in the top 5 like the media have alluded to then we'd be in deficit before we even got to a bid on Ison.
