But they are happy to not take the 3rd best player and take the 4th best player ?They rate him as the 3rd best player?
When they could possibly get their 3rd best player with #1 and still get their top rated player with pick #2
Strange

Yep - its making sure that our third pick will be highly speculative. Here is hoping for a massive slider...So do we know what these picks will come into ?
Also the suns players get bid on with #2 & #4 then the picks you have them trading for get wiped out at their current value and dont come in.

Obviously not with Essendon and Port were more than happy to offload him ... for Zerk ThatcherHe's played in more finals wins than the Saints since 2019

Still better than most saints playersObviously not with Essendon and Port were more than happy to offload him ... for Zerk Thatcher
Bog standard average player
I dont get the logicI think its more simple than some are trying to make out. They have an order and are likely just sticking to it
I may be wrong and its some genius ploy to get a favourable trade with Essendon or something, but I really think it's just a case of they have an order and will bid according to that
Shouldn't they bid on Uwland at 1. In no circumstance would they bid on their 3rd fave at 1.I dont get the logic
Maybe im not smart enough but if i have 2 players i want to get with my 2 picks i do the best i can to get them both and will be accordingly to achieve that result.
But if i am really only wanting that 1 player and open to 2-4 others then i will be bidding before i have to to get as much time as i can in the event a trade that i like comes then if it doesnt then take my next player
I dont get the logic

I get that logic of bidding but not sure what you didnt understand about what i was trying to sayWell Dean is 3rd in WCs order (according to the rumours) so there's 2 other players they'd rather have a crack at first
Im not sure how you dont get the logic of bidding according to your order?
Because they want Uwland more?I get that logic of bidding but not sure what you didnt understand about what i was trying to say
- There is 0% chance that GC dont match at any pick
- There maybe 5%-10% chance that Carlton dont match at pick #1
If you have some chance to get your 2 players why wouldnt you change your bid order.
0% chance they get himBecause they want Uwland more?
So by that logic they just shouldn’t bid on him at all and let him fall to the rookie draft0% chance they get him
anyway pointless i suppose
the topic is going in a very different directionSo by that logic they just shouldn’t bid on him at all and let him fall to the rookie draft
I dont get the logic from Carlton about giving up and not trying to get us to change our mind and not bid on Dean...Well Dean is 3rd in WCs order (according to the rumours) so there's 2 other players they'd rather have a crack at first
Im not sure how you dont get the logic of bidding according to your order?
What if the intent isn’t to get Dean though? They may have him and the 4th ranked prospect on very similar levels but believe the 4th ranked prospect is a bigger need/ less go home factor.the topic is going in a very different direction
my point was if you really want the player and you hold #1 & #2 and the intent is to get that player which gives you more chance to achieve your result in relation to Dean even knowing there is only 10% chance to get him
But 0% chance to get Uwland
With that in mind who do you bid on 1st if the intent is to actually get the player
You bid in order of your board? You don’t bid on Dean before Uwland because you would rather have Uwland than Deanthe topic is going in a very different direction

Who has informed the Eagles Gold Coast will 100% match on Uwland at picks 1 or 2 and Carlton will only 90% match on Dean at pick 1. You are just making up numbers to suit your argument.the topic is going in a very different direction

Hence they bid on Dean at 3 as that’s where they rate him but they don’t necessarily want him.
You absolute idiotYeah I think NAB stopped it when they realised that the prize money was coming from Jacob Weitering’s bank account.
The suns didnt just inform the eagles they informed the entire football community they will match any bid on both playersWho has informed the Eagles Gold Coast will 100% match on Uwland at picks 1 or 2 and Carlton will only 90% match on Dean at pick 1. Yeah probably. That was the whole point i was making.
If the intent was to get him or have any chance to get him you would bid #1 to give yourself every chance irrelevant of your ranking.
Stoked with Taylor, Sharp and Dovaston for Essendon. Robey's lack of exposure worries me. Hopefully Cal's on the money.Twomey’s phantom: https://www.afl.com.au/news/1453760
