Yep. It would mean that technically Sydney would have pick 1, so Carlton would not only not be able to use pick 1 in marketing for 2019, but they are also secretly admitting they did not want the guy they drafted, or at least not as much as they wanted someone else.
Yeah the players selected after a F/S or academy selection bid must be devastated
Not the same thing really as pick 1 holds a lot more weight than any other pick. There is something to be said for being seen as the best player of your draft.

Not much different St Kilda /Port will Bid him at 4 ,5.
St Kilda have pick 46, 67 to help them move up .
Actually it is quite different as the gaps between pick 2 and pick 4 points wise is quite large.

Showed quite a bit in his single game.
Would probably be playing a lot more if we didnt have a strong forward line.
Still going to be tough for him to crack it at this stage.

Not saying theyre wrong, but it seems like once one or two 'experts' go with this line, the other media commentators who havent seen an u/18 game all season just jump on board and parrot it.

Anyway, I have good sources at the Western Jets and a couple links to Vic Metro and I do have some decent rumours on the Metro front.
- Adelaide love Zak Butters and will take him at their second pick if he’s on the board, they may even take him with their first
- Richmond like Curtis Taylor a lot
- GCS like Ben King so don’t write them off going tall a couple of times on Thursday
- O’Halloran to slide into Friday
- Buku has few suitors, so the Bulldogs May get a bargain
- Cats have their eyes on a few Metro kids but have no idea what they’ll do - they like RCD and Butters particularly

Great minds hey Adam
It’s good for people to talk list management and vest in the U18’s but its posters talking about the players’ abilities that make me cringe - it’s pretty easy to see who just read a couple of articles on the AFL website and then decided that was enough to talk about how they’ll go at AFL level.
