Since St Kilda tried to initiate a pick swap with Gold Coast that the Suns rejected which was to see GC get 4 and St Kilda get 6, I reckon the Saints are going to take somebody they felt they could have gotten later and for me, that is Bailey Smith. I haven’t seen a single phantom draft with them taking Smith but I reckon that’s what they’ll do.

Maybe even Caldwell could be their guy, but I doubt it though

I'd trade our pick 20 for your future first, which will end up as around pick 25, but I doubt Stocker will still be there for the start of day 2.

Hard to see Stocker lasting long enough for a club to want to trade their pick for the Hawks future first.

Maybe the Hawks just laying some groundwork in case he goes interstate.

Miller, Ainsworth, Brodie, Bowes, Ah Chee, Wright, Ballard, Powell and Weller are all good young players.

It's the senior players they lack though.

But you could name that many young talented players for any team...
They have a squad of 40 youngsters, mostly top picks. There is a problem in development.

Basically in you mind you already knew hawthorn have pick 53 and next year pick to make it happen , you want validation or somebody to agree with you that it will cost Hawthorn multiple pick to get it done . If you trade a future first you have to keep a pick in each other round. So Hawks can't trade more than their future first really.

I'm not sure why you're taking me to task over it?
I'm just wondering what would likely get it done. Discussing the factors involved with other people is a good way to get a better view of the big picture.

For example someone might have information about Hawthorn having an academy or father-son for next year where they need to hoard picks.

Edit: like how I forgot that HFC cant trade any other picks for 2019 if they trade their 1st rd and Suma pointed it out.

Presuming Hawks are 4th-9th that becomes 10-15 before any compo picks.

Would be a bit of a risk for any club to give up a pick in the late teens/early 20s, with the possibility the hawks have another good year.

I think GWS pick 19 going to be crucial . A bid for Brigg earlier than 19 give hawthorn a chance to trade their future first . ( Stocker , hill , Stuart ) could be available.
