My thoughts are that a player's development can be ruined in the first 3-5 years of their career. The time is takes to rectify the bad start is too long and careers are too short to get through it. Look at Melbourne's dark days, surely it's not the recruiters missing so many picks that are commonly agreed to in the industry post draft. That place was like a wasteland with no one leaving and getting better.

Fair enough , I mean before GC , Melbourne got that Tag as well . Learn by experience .

Honestly not surprised people think that. We get 0 coverage anywhere so as soon as people don't recognize a player people will usually dismiss them as awful.

I back us in to pick up around 4 wins.

We won't be as awful as people say. If Essendon during 'that' year could snag a few wins, we should be able to.

Our biggest issues is always injuries at times last year we only had 25 to pick from. If that is sorted and we get some continuity we will be ok.

Who is the kid? To be fair, that could actually be true and if it was then its not draft tampering. But I'd want a mental health assessment similar to how a medical is done if I was a vic club looking at drafting him. Maybe his doctor will specify one of the clubs that only have to leave Melbourne a couple of times a season.

My instinct is that no player would make that up. It puts them being drafted by anyone in jeopardy if its true and would be pretty blatantly found out if its false. Good luck to him if its a medical thing. Shame, I was sincerely hoping he would fall to our pick.
