Sounds like a good fit for us actually. We have a lot of mids that can go to a HBF or wing. Not alot that can go forward. Good size too and fits the kicking profile.
Absolutely. Sheahan also says that some of his best attributes are leadership and work ethic - the kind of stuff that sees a guy make really make it in the AFL. Is also Jobe Watson's cousin.

I think because Dusty, Cotch, Lids and Conca are all very offensive players we would be well served by having a couple of mids who can not only rotate through the forward line but who also have a defensive edge. Ross to me fits this bill perfectly. I'm also keen on Waldhunter for this reason as well. Both love to tackle, can go inside, and have good footskills and resonable size.

The draft order becomes:

1. GWS
2. GWS
3. GWS
4. GWS
5. GWS
6. Port Adelaide
7. GWS
8. Brisbane Lions
9. GWS
10. GWS
11. GWS
12. Brisbane Lions
13. GWS
14. GWS
15. Richmond

We're the first Melbourne club to get a look in:thumbsu::)

Hopefully there's some Vic boys that tank their interviews.

WOW that would actually be sensational.................wowweeeeeee

Can someone please go and do a phantom draft on the drafts and trades board to make this suggestion look more real for me in my head.
Oi amcre. Chris25 has Kav at 16 Grigg at 28 :D

He is in the process of updating.
Yer just saw. Get over their quick amcre. hahaha

Would be great to get Kavanagh at 15. Every year a top prospect slides. Look at Atley last year. Darling as well. We may get a couple of goodies out of this.

Chris25 has just updated. He now has Grigg at 46!!!!

KM has him at 28.

Kavanagh at 15, Grigg at 26 and O'Hanlon at 55 just became my dream result

Anyone have thoughts on Jackson Coleman and Curran? No Kyle Archibalds please...

Kavanagh and Grigg would be amazing.

Then throw everything at trading for Brodie Grundy (Ruck) next year and HOPEFULLY we can snare a big free agent (Goddard) and our rebuild will be complete :thumbsu:

Can't we just draft Grundy next year? Id prefer Griffin. Younger and exactly what we need. Could probably afford him too. He'd be looking for a flag.

Cant believe how much more interesting the draft got in the space of 6 hours.

Any of crozier, markworth, grigg. docherty(secound pick), kavanagh would do with first 2 picks.

Pure mid first round!

First 2 picks I would like Kavanagh/Forster/McKenzie at 15 then Merrett Yeo Waldhunter or Ellis-Yolmen at 26. Now granted some of the later ones are a bit of a reach but given we've shown in the past that we've got no issue in jumping early for a player that we want, taking one of those guys at 26 wouldn't really surprise.

Any of those 2 IMO would give us some real depth to the midfield over the next few years.

Agree with Kav or Forster at first pick. McKenzie worries me though i love his kicking. Think Yeo will be too much of a reach there in the sense of alot better players there and could be there at 55 anyway. I love the way Waldhuter attacks the footy but looking at his stats he just cant get the footy. I was starting to like the idea of Ellis-Yolmen roughy for 15 and now we have 26 equals huge win IMO. You're onto something there RT.

Well heres where i need clarification, i know GWS can trade another 2 players next year in another mini draft but does that include this yrs under 17's e.g Grundy who will be full age draftee next year or 17 year olds next year who are currently 16?

Either way Grundy will be a top 5 pick so we will have to trade to acquire a pick high enough get him.

Nah its another new batch of 17yo's they trade. So effectively with a new batch they get a new gun to trade in Jack Martin. Will be a star as well.

Kavanagh and Grigg would def be my best result however i dont see Kav slipping to 15... just too much talent.

Im hoping GWS will reach for a few KPP's so a mid slips to us. They already have Ward, Scully, Shiel (gun!), Palmer and will draft Coniglio, Wingard, Tyson, Hoskin-Elliot along with Patton, Buntine, Longer... thats 7 of 11 picks. If they reach for the next best key positions (say Talia, Paine and Adams)... Unfortunately, Brisbane and Port will both probably draft mids but im still thinking one gun will slide to pick 15

Hypothetically, say Kavanagh was very reserved about leaving Victoria, we are the first Vic team to have a draft pick. Could come in handy

Over the last few drafts, we have pulled out some surprises with all our picks, so I would assume that we would have specific players targeted at these picks and for example, we would have a player targeted with pick 26 that may be ranked at going 35, and as such, won't be available at our next pick.

For some perspective, these are the players that went in the last years draft around our picks....Similar draft as it was compromised and also GC had majority of the picks...

Pick 14
2010 - Brodie Smith (Adel)

Pick 15
2010 - Billie Smedts (Geelong) next 2 were: Ben Jacobs (Port) & Shaun Atley (North)

Pick 26
2010 - Jack Darling (WCE) next 2 were: Kiran Harper (North) & Ryan Lester (Bris)

Pick ~29 (if traded Compo activated next year)
2010 - Scott Lycett (Port) next 2 were: Jake Batchelor (US) & Ariel Steinberg (Ess)

Pick ~34 (Compo optained)
2010 - Patrick McCarthy (Carlton) next 2 were: Ben Newton & Aaron Young (Both Port)

Pick 37 (Traded for Maric)
2010 - George Horlin-Smith (Geelong) next 2 were: Mitch Hallihan (Hawks) & Jeremy Taylor (Gold Coast)

....Pretty evident with results from last year, that we are sure to have some quality sliders around the new pick 26, which would not have been there at 37 (our previous 2nd rounder).....
Demonstrates some good trading by Craig Cameron and Co. to obtain 2 needs (Ruck & Small Defender) and also upgrade our position in the draft...

What u mean keeping 55? YOu dont think he's worth that?

good question. he may well be worth that but i think he will last to maybe the rookie draft.
take him at 73 and hope a good kid slips to pick 55.
we are now in the game and its only my opinion but i think theres a fair few decent mature players up for grabs late nd and psd. our first 3 picks should go on youth. we have already taken a 26 yr old and a 22 yr old.
in saying all this if we took him at 55 i dont think id be too upset.

should not really comment as i just havent seen enough of any of them but to me kavanagh at 15 and bolger at 26 would be pretty good. kersten at 55 a bit of a stretch i know but even im allowed to be feral at times.
