Yes, which is why I ssaid if he could work on his disposal. But you could do a lot worse in a rookie draft. We traded for Grigg with question marks on his kicking.

I wouldn't bank on pick 10. Knowing Richmond's love of winning meaningless games against average teams at the end of the year to hurt draft position we will probably end up with pick 14 or worse.

Nicholas Maric- Height 169cm Weight 72kg DOB 5/01/93
Kid is honestly the most talented in Australia, but height has restricted him all throughout 16'S and 18's.. We are talking about defenders, if you look at our list, we don't have a classy forward that finished that are worth their weight in gold
Geelong- Stevie J, Chappy, Menzel to name a few
Saints- Milney
Collingwood- Sidebottom, Blair, Fasolo will be
Doggies- Gianscircusa
Gold Coast- Matera
The best tigers can do is Jake King, who is a gun at what he does, but isnt the clean finisher that we need.. Am sure there are many in the draft but we need one, but we also need to focus on other things early in the draft

it is pretty obvious what my point is mr magic.. go for a number of variations at the draft.. and tigers need small crumbing forward.. though it was self explainatory

The point is this.
Why do we need a crumbing forward when we have two at least???

Why do you care and why would you want to point us in the right direction???

Why wouldn't we want a small marking forward as a higher priority when we don't have one consistently in the team let alone other positions??

Truth is at some stage, maybe not this year but long term, we need a small marking forward who crumbs as well. Eg. does the lot and kicks goals consistently. We have 5 years to find one

2nd round pick (34)...Josh Waldhunter (184/83 hard at it mid with good skills. good tackler and ready to play now.)/Sam Kerridge

Trade Jackson/Edwards for 2nd rounder (35-40)...Sam Gordon KPF/Andrew Boseley KPB or Kerridge if we take Waldhunter and Kerridge slips far enough and we want more mids.

Trade Connors for Maric

3rd round pick (50)...Henry Schade KPD/Thomas Sheridan MID/Clay Smith (If he slips)

4th round pick (60-65)...Xavier Richards KPD/Anthony Tipungwuti (Small FWD)/Jay Lever (Ruck)

5th round pick...PASS for PSD.

Their supporters seem to think they are the deals being asked for. Massive LOL at them. By all means O'Meara may end up the better player but no club throws away their best player plus a 1st rounder for a kid. Also have read that they rejected Adelaide's offer of Taylor Walker and Bernie Vince for a later pick. Are they kidding themselves?

It doesn't matter the value of what O'meara is. GWS will take what ever the best offer is for the GWS mini draft picks. If they don't then they will lose everything. It's not like they get to keep these kids if they don't trade them, from my understanding the kids will just go into next years draft if they are not selected.

To get the first pick in the mini draft all that needs to be done is to offer something better then everybody else. I can't see any other club offering a top five player in their team and a first round pick.

Nathan Foley would be the exact type of player GWS need & I really believe they would love to take him,I really struggle to see how other teams would offer up much more.

Foley,+Thursfiled or Moore or Mguanne for O'Meara would be a great result for us i believe.

I've been reading on the drafts and trading board that the Eagles will be delisting Bradd Dalzeill at the end of the season.

I thought he was promising when at Brisbane, not sure what's gone wrong at West Coast.

Is 24 years old. Worth a rookie pick I would of thought.

Second pick: Kerridge sounds like a gun so it's hard to see why he is rated as 30-40, would choose him over others instantly

Agree with first pick. Would consider Bolger (ruck) as well though in BF phantom draft he nearly lasts till our 2nd rounder. Kerridge kicking apparently not elite and might take a couple of years. Waldhunter sounds better if he lasts. Pick up Maric. Trade Foley + sweetener (Tuck/Jacko/Edwards/Thursfield/Graham) for 17yo. Plus we have 3 top 30 picks next year . Something like inside mid/quick outside mid/x-factor forward. Plus Free Agent .

Kavanagh or Bolger/Waldhunter or Bolger/Maric added to team for 2012
O'Meara or Crouch/Garlett/Atkins/Taylor/FA added for 2013.

Would also like another 2nd rounder from a Jacko/Edwards trade.

What about Foley + Post? Would prefer we held onto Post but I would imagine he would hold a fair bit more value that anyone else we are willing to offer up.

I wouldnt offer both Foley & Post ............ NO WAY

Edwards,Jackson,Nahas would have a better trade value but would be giving up too much for the unknown.

Fair call mate. Though not sure he will be classified as really an unknown. He's the touted number 1 pick in one of the best draft's of all time. If we traded for him potentially could become our best player. Personally I'd give up Foley & one of Post/Connors/Edwards/Jackson/Tuck/Thursty/compo pick

The others have nowhere near enough value for a number 1 pick.

He's the touted number 1 pick in one of the best draft's of all time.

How quickly people forget, they said 2006 was the strongest draft ever. The top 7 were all number 1 picks any other year and it ran extremely deep. 2005 was meant to be an extremely weak draft, Murphy was no 1. because there was no one else.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I'd take the top 20 in 2005 over 2006 any day. Murphy, Daisy, Pendlebury and Kennedy superstars. Mitch Clark, Higgins (without injury would be a superstar) Birchall, Ryder, Varcoe and Ellis all seriously good players. Hurn and Nathan Jones solid best 22 players.

Versus Selwood, Riewoldt and Boak superstars. Leunberger and Reid fast becoming superstars. Gibbs, Frawley seriously good players. Hansen, Jetta, Grigg, Hampson and Armitage solid best 22.

Foley was worth a a first round pick. Not convinced anymore. His disposal was never brilliant but seems sloppier this year and seems to have lost his breakaway pace. I can't think of him bursting from a pack at full pace once this year. Maybe a full preseason and he will come good but I'd take a first round pick (the top 16 selections not to 25 because of GWS) in a heartbeat and certainly have him on the table for the mini draft.

It goes both ways with being 12 months early, Swallow was no 1 from 16. NicNat always a top 3 (Hurly and rich slid) scully was always no. 1 cotchin and Kruezer were always 1 & 2.

But it's not as if any of those players who slid from being a top 3 pick have been failures. In fact they have often proven that letting them slide was a mistake. Sellar at Adelaide is the only guy I can think of who was touted as no. 1 a year out, slid and has been a screw up.

Scary midfield for opposition sides to take on.

I definitely agree that we should be trading foley. I think his value will decrease next season ala Coughlan. Geez we have been unlucky there.

As for Gibbs i think he is a gun but Murphy, Pendles, Daisy are on another level with Selwood. Boak is a little bit further back but is seriously underrated and then Gibbs back a bit further. Reid is a gun but half a great season in an exceptional back 6 and exceptional team that is the forward press makes your job easier. I want a bit longer of this before i give him nod as a star. Frawley IMO is overrated while very good he get's a good run in the media which makes him seem greater then he is. I watch quite a bit of melbourne (my best mate goes every week) and i find he get's caught out without help a bit and tries be to dashing when its not appropriate.

Anyway its each to their own and i was more pointing out we cant blindly assume its weak draft like they say or next year is strong. Which you agreed with.

Foley's having a pretty solid game this arvo... if he finishes with a few solid games then it can only be a good thing... bodes well for next year with another pre-season, OR he may still have quite a bit of currency when it comes to trade week.

Posty is going OK too. I'd still be trying to find someone else of value. One of the flanker types. A bit of depth in the big KPD dep't would be handy to retain.

Will be interesting if the BF hype eventuates in reality... there's been some decent mini draft bids thrown up around the place.

Was there a similar Gold Coast mini draft? There's a lot of O'Meara hype, but surely the best indication of what it would take to get a pick is to review what happened in a previous mini draft, if there was in fact one.
