So on top of being lightning fast, he also has a great vertical leap? So clearly he either can't play football, or has issues with his attitude/application? His brain fade late in the VFL season would indicate the latter may be the case. Such a shame... i reckon he's worth a final chance. Even delist him, and tell him he has a pre-season to prove his worth and we'll re-list him in the PSD.

Gourdis slipped so far in the draft because of Depression, he's been fighting it for several years and it led to major confidence issues in himself.

He seemed to be on the right track towards the end of 2010 putting in some really strong VFL performances and getting a call up to the senior side for the last couple games.

Everyone thought his development was on an upward curve at the end of 2010 but reports from the coaches and supporters who attending training were less then impressed with Gourdis and his application to training, he had a very poor pre-season and people who attending training were saying that Gourdis was having to constantly be told where to position himself in a drill, who to man up on what to do etc and his disposal was very ordinary.

The kid is an athletic beast, he has all the attributes an AFL footballer would want, but IMO is missing the most important AFL attribute of all and that is he's not a Footballer, rather he's an athlete playing Football.

Cotch is actually quick I think. In the praccy game at Mildura BUddy couldn't catch him while he was bouncing the footy. His agility is also ridiculous.

Yer agreed. Cotch isn't slow at all. Dusty is even faster. Lids quicker again. We go alright for speed :D

BANG....GRIGG PICK 14....would be very happy with this result.

I couldn't care about running times because I can't see them past his SA MVP at the champs and his dominant on field performances including his 60m shoe that hits blokes on the chest.

I wouldnt say our midfield is in desperate need for a speedster. Dom Tyson could be the best player to come out of this draft and he is only marginally quicker than Grigg.

Regardless, if Kavanagh is on the board jump on him. Greene should be our second choice, then Grigg... it gets a bit sketchy from there!

Grigg is an inside mid with a big body, he wouldn't need to break lines like a Lids or Dusty. His endurance looks fantastic which means he is ready to run all day:thumbsu:

Don't mean or wish to offend LIDSFAN , but the handball test developed by a bloke who hardly ever handballed, and can't commentate for shit, is possible the worst guides to a players ability I've ever heard or seen of !
No offense taken, just good to know that Kavanagh is doing well. I know Michael Lloyd sucks because he is biased as shit. I was just mentioning Kavanagh credentials and was the best in the test, seeing as I've never actually seen him play.

SHould get Downie with our second pick, GOT A 14 IN THE BEEP TEST!!!

Agree with this as I rate all three.

I also agree with the orders you have stated but I think Kavanagh will be gone by 14 and so will Greene.

WOW! The guy is supposed to run like a 180cm bloke but struggle to last games. That is an impressive effort.

His high level basketballer you wouldnt expect any diffferent, would have plenty of them trying to get into different basketball squads.

Also the beep test is a lot different to when you play footy especially as a ruckman where its a combination of sprinting, jumping, wrestling for position and getting of the ground after fighting for the ball and having to then ruck again. I reckon his more a 3-4 rounder than a first or second.

So i personally wouldnt be taking to much out of that due to his basketball.

Also with our first pick im liking markworth, grigg and crozier which could be a gamble for all three but i believe all will be very good players. One last thing does anybody else feel we need to get the second pick right more so than our first. Now days first are a lot more easy to get right than what they were 5-6 years ago.

I'm starting to get very keen on the big Downie, I would be happy to use our 2nd pick on him and then let him have a couple of years to develop. He would then be ready to come in when we can challenge

That wasn't Buddy, that was Gibson.

Nope, was definitely Buddy, Cotchin actually had about 2-3 players that he got away from whilst bouncing the ball and hitting up a target.

Pretty sure it was Buddy too, remember getting a tad excited downstairs at the time ;)

But I'm most confident it was at Shep, and not Mildura :p
