I really think this has worked out for the club. WD is going to be s superstar and his ability to play anywhere is just what is needed. We are the worst for collapsing when someone gets a run on. Moving WD to defence to patrol back there will be priceless in a couple of seasons.

I'd be happy for the club to go hard for Patterson. Double bid the GC boys at 1 and 2, see if he drops.

If we get pick 9 and Bombers don’t take Sharp which I’m not sure they will. If they go Cumming and with their failure rate with those sort players recently in the first round. Sharp might be there at 9…….

Because people have convinced themselves this draft's shit as well as too many people being obsessed with Sharp and think Duursma's Cale Moreton 2.0, even though he's absolutely nothing like him.

I’d say because of our draft hand and looking at what we will do with pick 2 and 13.

The draft is way too late, I understand they do it due to exams ect but feels like there is no momentum this year, probably due to 4 teams owning the top picks I guess.

At least Cal acknowledges we have interest in Sharp at 13, may as well rule him out at pick 2 and see what we do with 2 if we trade it for a godfather deal.

I’d be underwhelmed with that draft result too, but I’d eventually come around and get around the new kids. So much comes down to development, which we have sucked at for a long time now.

Dream for me is still Duursma, Sharp, Dovaston/Cumming/Shubert and our NGA kids.

Maybe. I'd still take Jagga Smith and Sam Draper ahead of Duursma, though I would have taken Duursma ahead of O'Sullivan. Lalor has looked pretty good so far so I'd be happy with him ahead of Duursma as well though I didn't rate him that high at the time.

Cal's money shot is his 'Late mail Phantom Draft' that he does just before the draft. Last year he went 10 for 10 for the top 10 selections.

We'll see if he lets a nugget slip about any live trades, like us trading up to Carlton's pick.

Carlton also cant really trade a pick 9 for future 1st. In that situation if we bid for Dean at pick 2 then Carlton wont have the points to match. Theyd then lost out on Ison further down for sure
