100% correct Keys.

Long post.
Absolutely has no idea who we will take apart from pick 1 Duursma imo also.

This tells me 2 things, 1 we have diverted draft chat/info/speculation to maximise our draft hand with if you want pick 2 you ned to come at us with someting to tempt us or don't come at all.
2, this means we are still having STRONG discussions with ESS about what they want, the player they want and what that will cost them.

Twomey is a big ESS fan and probably had some strong inside info/contacts that would feed him but the new crew are giving him SFA.

He can't get a read about what it would take to get pick 2 from us from an ESS perspective and will it take 2 & 13 for 5 & 6 or more when he was stating this same scenario weeks ago!!
Tells me we are VERY keen to do a deal with ESS, but you need to add some more for us to budge, add a F2nd or a F3rd and we can have a chat.

The no idea read on pick 13 is two fold, again he has no idea or links and WC are openly expressing since trade time that we are VERY keen to move up and get 3 top 10 picks and have put a massive amount of effort to get the draft hand we have eg. Allen FA pick, sold Ryan, sold Chesser, Starcevich deal to improve our hand.

Obviously behind closed doors the WC list management are driving harder deals and list management decisions to maximise are draft hand to improve.
I still think we are Duursma pick 1, trade 2 & 13 to ESS for 5 & 6 & F3rd.
ESS take CDT or Robey at pick 2.
WC take Sharp & Cumming at 5 & 6.

Keep our draft hand of 34, 41 for our NGA/FS's if they recieve a bids to match and if they don't or are later there is an opputunity for a late pick option for someone who slides, Curtin KPD.
Hopefully we can find out who Essendon and Richmond are desperate to get and we let slip we are going to take them at pick 2. Might get them offering some over the top deals to us for pick 2.

Of course, but a small forward that kicks 5.7 in a colts season isn’t really a first rounder for mine regardless of how agile he is
Without doubt, what they have produced plays a big part of everyone’s assessment but projecting what they could be also does.

Everyone team has misses but the best seem to hit more then they miss especially around these sort of picks.

For Clarke not to match a late first round pick bid would take some balls even more so if it’s from the Cats ect and if Humphries gets mentioned every time he plays a decent game can only imagine the career watch on what ever player we don’t get especially if it’s first rounder.

Sorry if already posted. Seems the only people who don’t rate his kid are some of our supporters

I rate Williams highly. Wondering about his stamina. He looks a likely wingman if he has good stamina. Cant find anything on that. His highlights show him as a high HF. We are screaming out for some good wingman. We have a few potentials but nothing standing out yet.

I believe a lot of the reports on him are his GPS numbers are very very good.

As crazy as it sounds, I'm starting to suspect it's Banfield. Have heard a bit about Koby Evans in the media lately and obviously Williams looks to have interest. It is possible that despite his solid end to the year and his grand final performance they're not willing to give Bailey a main list spot?
Definitely not giving Bailey a list spot.... Charlie is a possibility

This close to the draft they would have the intel, knowledge of ESS & RICH preferences at the draft.

I don't think RICH do any sort of a deal with WC unless there is a clear benefit for all where we all get who we want in the top 6, but the same reason ESS want to get in front of RICH is the same reason I don't think any trade involving the 3 clubs will happen.
The only way this plays out is we do a deal with ESS for pick 2, WC are using their leverage of we don't want to trade it unless you offer overs.
The only other way we get 2 midfielders in this draft is if someone slips through and we get pick 9 from CAR.
Not sure WC have this as a preferred position when they have sold lots of assats to get this draft hand.
I still think WC are pushing to get 1 of Sharp or Cumming at a minimum.

Anyone who has doubts about Williams was not at the VIC Metro game. Tyler showed me that he understands the high half forward role and worked bloody hard. I would be severely p1ssed off if we don’t take him
I just feel he is in the 25-35 range and that's where he is worth a pick match.
1st round is crazy talk from other industry "experts".

I’m still backing him to make it as a ruckman. We don’t need him forward anymore full time with Shanahan and my old mate down there. Archer and Williams can swap through the forward line or through the bench.
Jack Williams is only 198cm. Whilst his craft is decent, he will only ever be a pinch hitter at that size. He will need to be primarily a KPF/KPD if he is to make it with us .

I like him tho, his 2024 was awesome. 2025 not so much but it’s good to see him come back leaner.

Have said before, but if multiple clubs rate him a 1st rounder and we can grab him with pick 34 (and dont) you would really have to question our recruiters
Agree with the sentiment and have posted similar myself before.

But given how the list has been managed at times in the last few years it may not be inconceivable that the eagles brass are doing their ol were smarter then everyone else trick.

My gut feel is banfield makes it to rookie list anyway, but should two guys get bidded on and we match it will make for a nervous finish to the draft.
