Just a reminder of what williams can do in dog shit conditions

I don't get the lack of faith in Williams. I think he'll prove to be a best 22 pretty quickly.

Agree. His concentration are ability to stay in games was really good. His burst is good and I was impressed with his endurance. He and Cody kept our forward line effective is some of the carnival games

We have been drafting to address the inside mid issues over several drafts. You don't focus on one position in one draft.

Now the likes of Hall, Gross and Bo need development games.

We dont need to draft 3 more inside mids this draft, that was the OPs view.
If some of the inside mids in the draft are better than what we've got, then why not.

Pretty comprehensive article, some points regurgitated from Gettable. All the usual talk about top 10 guys but some later ones mentioned of interest.

Beau Addinsall
“Whether the Suns match an Addinsall bid, however, remains a hot talking point among recruiters. Sources believe if Murray and Addinsall received bids in the same first-round range, Gold Coast would more likely match for Murray than Addinsall.”

Tylah Williams
“Small forward Williams for weeks has been tipped to attract a bid on night one of the draft. The Giants (Pick 12) have been linked, as have – you guessed it – the Dockers.”

Less relevant to us but haven’t heard much about Sydney academy kids. They only have picks in the 30s+ so may see some shuffling.

Harry Kyle
“An exciting 188cm rebounding defender with potential to play in the midfield, Harry Kyle probably sat third or fourth in the Swans academy pecking order at the start of the year. But rival clubs really like the look of Kyle, who now looms as a first-round selection — and could be the first Swans-linked player to attract a bid on draft night.”

If the Giants go with 12 then he's all their's you would think. Highly doubt they go that early though from all other reports.

We can match anything around early 20s fairly easily if we actually want him

Agreed re Williams.

Addinsall is an interesting one. Sounds like a bit of a stat pig who could complement our mids. Could be an option at 13 but if we move up to 9 you’d think there’s better available with the possibility of Sharp or Farrow etc

Starting to think this draft might be a little underrated. Plenty of mocks have players going in the 30s or 40s I would be happy to have on the list. Obviously there will be heaps of duds, but I think there will be plenty of diamonds as well.
Agreed. I recall the 2017 draft being called weak in the lead up and the top 10 wasn't the best but in hindsight it produced a lot of good players even late in the draft, could be similar this year.

We will likely draft 1 inside mid.

But we won't draft 3 inside mids.

That's the discussion.

Do we draft 3 rucks in the same draft because our rucks are weak? No we don't.

And given picks are usually 18 spots apart that also results in not drafting 3 players of the exact same type and quality.

You really need to do more in a game than a few tackles & pressure acts though. That should be your minimum output on a bad day out, not your entire return.
If you're doing nothing offensively then your opponent tends to have a field day, with nothing to worry about.

Williams is also tiny. He's at least 2 years away from being able to stick any tackles and once putting on size you have to wonder about all these so called amazing combine results.

Interesting who was watching Essendon train.

It's a shame our club can't do things like this unless it's a top ranked West Aussie. I remember last years AFLW draft, all the Vic clubs had their new draftees at their facilities in their new colours and everything, and we had to wait three months to get Painter and the rest of the girls in the building to tour the facilities.

Draft should’ve been in WA the year with 4 picks taken.

The it on the road like the NFL and have fans there
