I voted for Sharp in the poll but given my limited knowledge of the young fellas I won't be disappointed when we pick CDT until it's proven I need to be.
Would be nice to pick up a midfielder but I guess best available is the way to go with our 3rd pick, no point picking midfielders for the sake of it
This for me.

Sharp would be nice but not at the expense of the top 2.

Duursma and CDT both have size and game breaking athleticism whilst also being very good at footy. Thats what top 2 picks are for, and we get 2 of them.

As a prospect I think CDTs ruck stats are irrelevant. Obviously we hope that improves and he plays ruck full time, but it only takes a 5 second clip to watch this bloke move around like Bont and it’s enough for me.

The biggest knock on him (and Duursma as well to be fair) is not really knowing where he’ll play at the next level and not knowing whether he’ll ever be elite at any one position.

But I think that’s beside the point because the other side to that is that he has scope to be elite anywhere along the spine and potentially mid/wing at a stretch, same with Duursma. They’re good footy players with elite physical attributes, you pick them and find a spot for them.

I wonder if Essendon come hard for one of our picks now?

I would’ve liked Clark to say we won’t bid on Dean, here’s 34 and a F2 for 11 personally, surely that’s better than North’s offer?

Guess we’re tight for list spots though, which is laughable.

If I’m reading that right

Carlton get - 21,27,30 from Essendon for pick 9 which is an extra 353 points and pick 25 plus North’s F2 for pick 11 which is a loss of 615 points

All up a net loss of 262 points - equivalent to pick 39 but they get Norths F2 which would be mid 20’s at worst

The total points Carlton have with those picks 21,25,27,30 is 2298 which would cover a bid at pick 2

Good business from Carlton tbh

As a comparison for us to bundle up 13,34,41 would have fallen 48 points short of Essendon’s picks

Essendon now have 5,6,9

North have 11,26,46 but no F2

We now have the 13th pick in the open pool (17th overall) which kinda sucks

West Coast - Duursma
West Coast - CDT
Richmond - Robey
Richmond - Taylor (X)
Essendon - Sharp
Essendon - Cumming
Melbourne - Nairn
Melbourne - Farrow
Essendon- Dovaston
Hawthorn- Grlj
North - Schubert
GWS - Taylor (O)
West Coast from
• Lindsay
• Marsh
• Hibbins-Hargreaves
• Barker
• Addinsall
• Pickett

On a brighter note - picks 15,17,18,21,23,24,25,27,28,29,30 are all likely to come off the board due to bid matching meaning picks 34 and 41 potentially come into 27 and 34

Pick 18 - Bulldogs
Pick 19 - Adelaide
Pick 20 - Geelong
Pick 21 - Fremantle
Pick 22 - Hawthorn
Pick 23 - North Melbourne
Pick 24 - Sydney
Pick 25 - Sydney
Pick 26 - Western Bulldogs
Pick 27 - West Coast

Means we might get a pick in before a Williams bid or alternatively still have a pick around mid to late 30’s after a match

Apparently North are swapping 46 to Carlton for 56 also, which gives Carlton a few more points.

Do you think we're a slightly higher chance to move pick 2 now? 2+13 for 5 +6 or 9. Feel the Bombers will be more open to it now that they have the other pick in there.

We should be getting Duursma and Banfield at least. Banfield could be a ripper and obv late pick. Elite 2km time trial, 192cm, great overhead mark, inside/outside mid. Knows how to find the ball on the inside and added outside ability. And had a great mentor growing up.

Suspect Carlton might be sending Essendon a late pick back - either 43 or more likely 54 and a later 2026 pick back to North

On face value it looks a good trade for all three clubs - devil can be in the detail though and we saw during trade period Cal Twomey can sometimes leave important details out of his initial tweet

I'm a sharp believer again.

Maybe that's it hasn't leaked as to who we are picking with 1 and 2.

We told harley pick 1 early on we are into him with that pre draft phone call.

**** you wce. I still won't be tuning into draft day if Cal mentions CDT Pick 2 in his last phantom draft. I was meant to bake a cake. I for one am not an bystander for the destruction of this footy club
