If Swans take McCarthy they will have wasted a draft pick. They need mids to compliment their forward line.
Freo need tall forwards to comliment their mids. Swans are a bunch of w---s at the best of times, they would be about my most hated club. I dare say more hated than WC if they drafted him.

With the talk of homesickness, this is the kind of lad Freo should be targeting if they are to get Victorians. Most city boys will want to go back to Melbs, and I think we'll lose Sheridan one day. If McCarthy drops down, I wouldn't be opposed to us grabbing this punk – seems the sort you'd like to have around a club. A few write-ups have us interested, apparently.

No, because they're from Melbourne. And Melburnians are really quite parochial and attached to their home city. West Aussie draftees realise they're, on a law of averages, probably going to move. That mindset doesn't entirely exist for Victorians.
Even the most idiotic person couldn't misconstrue that post. Come on man, that was an entirely civil post attacking no one. Not even the South Melbourne-Sydney Swans Football Club.
Ok rereading that I apologise. I get a bit upset when people say we might lose the train.

Im sure every club is "interested" in more or less every first round player. We are going to get a decent player at 17, I think the need for a kpf is slightly less severe now. And the way we pretty much never pick who Fremantle take in the first round I'm preparing myself for a surprise. I will be very disappointed if we don't take a tall defender at some stage though, Johnson and Macca can't be replaced overnight..

I agree with this. Freo have recruited a number of KPF's such as gumby and rookie upgraded Tabs. If McCarthy isn't available I would much rather Freo get the best available or look at a KPB to replace Macca and co when the time arrives.
I would love Scharenberg to fall to Freo but that would be a minor miracle.

Yep its an annual thing like christmas. Freo fans speed weeks getting into lather about which young tall to pick only to see a unknown mid from victoria be selected. Bond and Lloyd seem to enjoy trolling us.
