Adam Goodes is 191cm. Point is I wouldn't trust anything written by Hagdorn. The chances of us even trying to develop Pearce as winger is close enough to zero, not to mention where did he get that from? Absolutely no one else has said it anywhere. The hiring of Simon Eastaugh as a ruck/forward coach has been seen as a really important move within the Fremantle walls given the throng of developing talls that are now on the list.
WEAKNESSES: Given they are in premiership contention, the Dockers possibly could have gambled a bit more in the trade period to try and gain a ready-made, reliable key forward to add the missing link to what is an extremely even team. But the Dockers coped without Pavlich, Sandilands and Luke McPharlin for large periods last season and they will back their development academy to produce more players to add to their depth. - Alex Malcolm

Gotta love the thought that these "journos" put into their articles. What 'more' exactly could Freo have done to gain an experienced key forward? We went after Buddy, Cloke, Jack Riewoldt, Black and Reid. The only other realistic target would have been Nick Riewoldt. And I"m not even sure going after him would have been realistic.

Yeah, if you're gonna suggest we could've done something that we didn't try and already do, you could at least give an example or 2, Alex. We literally tried EVERY decent KPF worth his salt in the league.

Gumbie is a bit of an unknown quantity, but he is a positive addition who may work out for us. Taberner should be able to put some gametime together as well if required, and Hannath and Moeller get another pre-season into them after their debut year. Apeness is about as ready to go as a 1st year KPP gets. Griffin and Bradley return from injury to become theoretical options as well. So all in all we have improved our situation over last year.

Last night in the drive home I tuned into 6PR to hear the news and they had the someone talking about the rookie draft as a lead in before Sports whenever. He proceeded to talk about Wood being taken as pick 16 but didn't know which team that was but was able to talk for a minute or two about the eagles recruit. Just winds me up every time.
