With Roo retiring and Edwards and Goodiwn with 1 or 2 years left only along with Mcleod I cant see Douglas being traded either.
I'm not even sure last years Coleman medalist is worth that much.

I like Bock, i really do. But only as a defender. It seems Adelaide don't even know where to play him. Anyway, we are sort of getting off track now, as Bock isn't on the cards.
He has kicked 29 goals this year with about 2/3 of his gametime being up forward and the rest down back. Craig has said he wants to play him at CHB but with the injury to Roo and Hentchel they have struggled to have potentcy up forward and played him at CHB.
I think he can play either end to a pretty good level but could be an AA at CHB if allowed to settle there long term. Or a 40 goal a year forward if played at CHF week in week out.
Nice.....so..are the bulldogs looking at him?
Doesn't matter where the Bullies look. The question is are Adelaide looking to dish Bock (which they won't). Pointless discussion
Maybe not but try looking at it for Adelaide. What are the odds that the best KP in the draft (lets say its Hebnderson) gets to the level that Bock is now.
BOG last night and can take a pack mark at CHF and his kicking is quite good. Or get 20 possessions and win most of the 1 on 1s at CHB. Big and strong and a good athlete and skills.
Bock is 24 and someone like Henderson might take 5 years to be able to really influence games and be arounds Bocks ages now when thats the case. If injury does not cruel him before that and if Henderson develops as expected after the draft. The problem is that "as expected" falls short a lot of the time.
There is a market for talls and prices have been framed. Ottens, Richards, Hay, Tarrant and so forth. You adjust it for the players age, injury concerns, attitude, off field dramas and the strength of the draft.
But if you think you get Fevola for pick 5 and McMahon then I disgaree. Carlton would want more than that. Pick 5 is like pick 15 from last year. Take Tarrant as the example and Fevola is worth at least 25% more than that and pick 8 last year is more like 2 or 3 this year.
I would not be trading for Fevola if I was the Dogs as the way they have finished off the year has changed my mind on it. But i am trying to be realistic as to what players would cost.
Richards pick 19. Hay 14 and 18. Tarrant 8 (and change) in the superdraft. Thats 3 talls from the last few years to get an idea what it would cost.
Lets say Carlton offer pick 3 for Brian Harris? Would you do it? What are the odds of getting a tall who can get to the level of Harris? Where would that leave the list while waiting for someone else to be able to play full back on Brown, Gehrig, Fevola, Lloyd and co?
I don't understand why most here think we'll get full value for McMahon.
McMahon is kind of a distress sale of an asset which isn't desperately needed by the Crows or Port. Meanwhile several Melbourne clubs want a ruckman like Meesen.
If he returns to SA, i can see us getting a lot less than many expect here and I can't see them trading away a KPP unless he definitely isn't required.
DONT TEAR ME TO SHREDS, but would anyone want josh hunt from geelong. A big bodied b/p-hb flanker, that could EASILY do the kick-out duties to allow gilbee to play further up the field.
Anyone?
No.
He's soft as butter.
you would tell them to **** off, fast forward 12 month what if we are in the same position, grant gone and west maybe, what would you do if clubs offered picks for the likes of harris, he'd be worth 2 first rd pick.
would you bottom out and build a team around williams everitt cooney griffen higgins and so on.
now it would still be a **** off about harris, but in 12 months you'd have to think long and hard on which way you'd want us to go if things dont change.
btw i think 2008 will be a good one get back some key players in griffen and even cross with murph hahn gia cooney aker higgins and all the side having a big pre season and get fitter, we will be better.![]()
Yeah agree, but for piss weak journalists who watch us twice a year and blame our lack of tall forwards as the reason we have gone backwards. If you watched the team on a consistent basis, like many on this board you would quickly learn that we need more than just some tall forwards to become a better team, although it would help.
Rant over...
With your need for a KKP and/or ruckman/come forward, would that interest your clubs needs? With pick 5 the bullies would probably have to pick the best available player (probably a midfielder) which doesn't really meet your first priorities.
Thoughts???
What would you give for David Hille, he's a good ruckman who has presence and is very good at floating forward and pinching goals. List as many options as you can. I wouldn't mind one of your KP backs, are Williams or Wright available for trade?
