Correct. In fact Longmuir's knees are so buggered I saw on the news last week that he had retired, although apparently this was incorrect. Regardless I don't think we should go anywhere near him.

Lies! all lies! J-Lo's knee's are fine, nothing wrong with them at all. Degenerative knee condition? Bah! Bone rubbing on Bone? Stupidest thing I've ever heard.

The reason he didn't play much this season was because he thought the idea of watching Gilmore in the ruck would be highly amusing and well worth it. He's primed and ready to go in 2008, and he's all yours for a first round pick...

How did his op for both of his knees go?

How did his op for both of his knees go?

Depends who you ask. It's been widely reported that it was unsuccessful, given he's only been doing rehabilitation for a week i have no idea how you could gauge it's success. As with most things around this time of year it's all speculation.

J'Lo still has 2 years to run on his contract so I'm hoping it all works out. I can't see him getting back to anywhere near his best though so his efforts may all be in vain. Warnock and Sandi have the ruck spots sewn up and we have enough forward options without trying to squeeze him in.

Not sure, if we are active on trade week, we may get involved in on-trading picks to secure a player or 2 who may be able to address our problems.

He said the 1st round wouldnt be traded, but he didnt say anything about any other rounds, so with the draft apparently being shallow this year they may not be concerned with picks after the 1st round

also didn't mention the possibility of trading future year draft picks which I think is allowable this year.
wonder if the right player came up whether we might consider the option of trading a future year 1st round pick?

Thats a shame. IIRC he signed a 4 or 5 year contract. It's always a big risk to sign players for long periods of time and this is a prime example about what can happen.

There is now a picture of J-Lo next to 'Long Term Contracts' in the list managers handbook.

Thats a good thought YHF

I know that something like that is coming in, I wasnt sure if it was this year or not. Maybe Rocket was just trying to throw other clubs off last night on SEN.

Because we have a few structural issues, it may be an option.

Anyone hear the talk on SEN this afternoon on Justin Koschitzke??

Fair dinkum word is he's not committing to St.Kilda, and why wouldn't the doggies be absolutely perfect candidates??

He's worth pick 5 and a player for mine, then maybe swap a 3rd round for a 2nd

DOn't focus so much on what I offered, but how about Kosi???

The performance of Franklin and Roughead today has convinced me that if we're fair dinkum, we'll get rid off our underperforming players (Gia, McMahon, Eagleton etc) get some 1st and 2nd round draft picks, and develop our own kids.

What do you say to West and Grant....F..k off and retire? And do you trade Johnson to say the Saints and be lucky to get pick 9. Otherwise We have no players in the 25 yr old bracket that command 1 or 2 first round picks that we'd be willing to trade unlike Hawthorn with Hay and Thompson. Gia and McMahon may be worth 2nd round picks, Eagle is worth zip. Only option is to trade for a player like McGregor who incidentally performed well today, draft the best available (which is hopefully a KPP fwd), hope Everitt improves to be like Franklin, and then train our team with McGregor to use a KPP fwd.

Our situation is totally different. If anything we are more like the Cats. (just without a spine - literally and figuratively). Hopefully this can be addressed this year.

Its bad luck we weren't quite as bad as the Hawks in 05 we could have had Franklin instead of Williams...

IF Jordy wants to go home, I wouldn't mind the Dogs having a hard look at Mattner. The type of player we could do with.

Had the same thought today Rocco,

Although I was trying to work our where we would play him?
I was thinking that he could play down back & release Morris to be a run with player in the midfield. Thats about the only thing I could see may be possible.

Mattner play his best footy on the wing.

Dont know why Craig played him in defence this year because he had a great 06 playing on the wing.

He's been completely wasted in the back pocket this year. He's prone to the odd brain fart, but then again, everyone is.

He's 25 atm, so we really wouldn't be losing anything if he was involved in a trade involving McMahon.
