Well lets look at how things stand as of today.

We appear to have made formal offers for two players who would only have about 3 years left in them - Hudson and Robbo.

Does Rocket think we're close to a Premiership????

Does Rocket think we're close to a Premiership????

If he does he is dillusional...we are no hope atm. We need a strong, mobile ruckman who can pinch hit fwd, a strong pack marking fwd, and 1-2 inside hard nuts b4 i start thinking about premierships...and if rocket think hudson and robbo or mcgregor are 2 of those players then he is dillusional.

Is Eade a dill, delusional or a mixture of both...

no, what we need is a decent ruckman. (hudson = tick)

a decent tall forward (????)

a good run with injuries (like any eventual premier. its a requirement these days)

and most importantly for eade and the players to get serious. geelong turned it around 180 degrees without changing their list and so can we. we have oodles of talent, apart from a few gaping holes in the structure that we might possibly be able to fill over the next 2 years.

With McDougall looking to cement a CHB role, I would love to try Tiller and Williams up forward next year. They could form a partnership like Essendon's Lloyd and Lucas. The best players to trade would be guys such as Gia, Power, Wight, Eagleton and McMahon being involved in acquiring Wood and or Reid. We should persist with drafting the best possible player with our pick 5, be it Ebert, Palmer or Henderson. If Ray needs to move back to WA we should get pick 7 from Fremantle and get the remaining of the trio listed. At the moment the future will be better than the present, unless we get rid of our first pick and they will both be good but never great.

I think its fair to say that Rocket knows more about football and the club than we do, and we will have to trust him.

All this talk about Ben Reid coming to the Bulldogs, what triggered it?

McDougall and Tiller shouldn't be in our best 22. If we are, we're in trouble.

Robbo is past his best. Next year he is due to flop anyway. Every even year he does. Strange, considering if he fired on an even year, Melbourne (who always fires on an even year) would be a genuine contender.

Three years ago I suggested trading Robbo for Robbo. It's pointless now, just like it would be pointless to go for Bradshaw now after coming off a knee.

I did, I'm afraid.

If Collingwood want Judd, they have to get a top 5 pick from somewhere to even be a chance.

They have precious little to offer that wouldn't be considered untouchable - Thomas, Pendlebury, Cloke would be off-limits.

Reid and Didak are the two that would get them the deal. Of the two, Reid would be the lesser of two evils.

Name: Alex Rance
Height: 194
Weight: 87
State: Western Australia
Club(s): Swan Districts FC

AFL Positions:
Rance is a big defender who can run and use the ball well. He should develop into the most important defender on his AFL team.

Perfect Fit For:
Firrito is sometimes undersized at full back so the addition of another tall defender could help the Kangaroos. Rance may not last to their pick.

**********.net prediction:
The Bulldogs could use their first round pick to take Rance. For more than a decade, they have needed height. Rance, Williams and Everitt would be a great trio of young defenders. A lot of the teams with early picks need someone like Rance, so he could be a possibility to go at pick 2, but when the Bulldogs are up at pick 5 and if Rance is still there it would be difficult for the Bulldogs to say no.

AFL Fantasy Outlook:
If he goes in the early picks, Rance will probably be on a team that needs help right away, so he should play a lot. He is strong in the air, with good anticipation of where the ball is going, so he can get plenty of marks from opposition kicks. When Rance uses the ball he kicks it long and accurately. Rance should be a player who starts the fantasy season on many teams as a defender on the bench.

i think tiller has every right to be there. kicked 2 goals a game most times his played in a side that got flogged. he also runs hard and tackles and actully does ok when put down back. hope to see him given more of a go next yr. if we can find a defender somewhere then i hope shaggy gets pushed to the forward line or more of an attacking role.

I havent been on that website for donkeys. I might check it out.

And this is why i havent been on in ages

Will Minson: The Bulldogs started the season with a few wins, and Minson in the ruck. Then he was back to the VFL, sometimes playing as a forward for Werribee. Maybe things turn around next season, as Darcy has retired, but if Minson doesn't hear soon that he is a big part of the future he might consider asking for a new opportunity elsewhere.

Plenty of teams need a big, strong ruckman so there would be a lot of interest in Minson from other clubs. But this isn't a case of a team having an oversupply at a position, so if Minson does go in a trade it could be in exchange for another ruckman who is looking for a new opportunity.

Mitch Hahn: Hahn needs to be on a team where he is the third or fourth marking option in the forward line, not a primary and undersized one. The Saints have the big forwards, and a small guy, but with Hamill out they have lacked a medium option, Hahn would be a good fit there.

Trading our only two big bodied players? I dont think so buddy.

What website is that?

is there a reason the address is *****ed out?

Pick 5 if we keep it will be very interesting.

McEvoy, Henderson & Rance would be the three KPP's we would have in our mind. McEvoy by all reports is handy in the ruck and good up forward, Henderson seems to be a bit of an unknown commodity - somewhat in the Walsh vein, talented but ? - and Rance's stocks seem to be continually rising. People had him around the 15 mark early on, they're now beginning to say he could go anywhere.

That plus the fact that there's two or three gun midfielders makes it very interesting as to what our club will do.

Weaver suggested we may be a bit frightened by Hendersons kicking, a shaky leg sort of action? McEvoy could be an in-between player at AFL level? Rance; do we need another KP defender? Not to mention we're in need of some quality inside midfielders, of which there are some.

I suppose this is where Clayton earns his money. We really do require a quality KPF so you would think we'd target this area firstly. That would cancel Rance out, although it wouldn't hurt to have a very strong backline for the next 10 years consisting of Harris/Williams/Everitt/Rance - with the possibility of swinging one forward (Harris even, eventually?). It's a tough one; I wonder how Clayton rates the talls in order, and if he would pick them in that order. Rance may be atop of his list, but due to our needs, we may instead go for the KPF.

Are there any in-depth websites with information on the possible draftees? Usually on BF there is some decent analysis but from what I've seen thus far, aside from a few posts here and there, I haven't seen a whole lot. Mainly just "Trading" games and a hundred attempts at "Phantom Drafts" with only the one successful one.

I refuse to get excited about the prospect of a gun tall forward given claytons 'safe midfielder' approach. but my ignorant self likes the thought of mcevoy who apparently is a terrific mark and kick, and has footy smarts. the fact that he is 199cm and can ruck a bit is merely a bonus.

Bulldogs will hand their pick #5 over to a side who wants Judd who offers us the most. Simple. Say goodbye to using it in the draft, because the currency is too high.

There are 4 Melbourne clubs who would give their left arm for a top 5 pick to hand over to West Coast. They'll over price it and we'll win a ready made star with this pick. Maybe even two.

It's a fact, forget first round of the draft.

Yes, they will all be falling over themselves backwards for our Pick 5 to dish over to the Eagles, I am willing to part with it as long as we get something very fair in exchange.

Everything is all about Judd, looking forward to him making the decision on where he wants to go and soon. I seriously am glad we are not chasing him - it is more fun watching his 'chosen' clubs going into tailspins and offering the world. He is good, very very good but no thanks.

Is Ebert an inside mid? He is highly rated and looking at his stats he looks to slot right into our starting 22.

No.

He reminds me of Farren Ray a little. Tall midfielder who kicks long and finds a lot of the ball because he can run hard and has a huge tank. But his kicking is long but is not that accurate.

Much bigger body that Ray but plays like him and has the same sort of attributes.

Ebert is not quick. Not slow but is a little 1 paced.

While he has a big body he does not win a lot of clearances and is more of a wingman or flanker at this stage.

Needs some development.

thats it now there are four sides in the running for pick 5 heres what they have

pies- with pick 5 they will also have pick 15? this will not be enough to get judd imo so the may deal Didak for pick 10, so we could end up with Reid and pick 15 if we sent of ray to WCE.

blues- they are in the box seat, but i dont think Fev will move to Perth, so this is another option for pick 5.

bombers- i dont think they will trade with us, they have pick 6 and Ryder, which i think WCE would rather then picks 5 and 6

dees- two top 5 dp's will help them, but what can they offer us McLean? Jones? other picks i dunno if thats what i would want.

so what ever happen i will be happy and trust what ever eade dose, has it's his jobon the line if he gets it wrong.
