If that's what the bombers wanted I'd say that's a win for us...but I doubt they'd trade a former captain. Are there strong rumours he'll go? Coz although he was dropped last week I'd say he's still seen as needed by Essendon

without doubt he'd be a major tall forward and push for best ruckman.
Hey Doc, long time since I've seen you posting on this board... good to see you back.Wood would cost our 1st round pick and would be worth every bit of it.
I firmly believe we need to pick up an AFL-ready ruckman this year, as well as draft a young one and get him developing in the twos. I would loath us picking up a hack forward or defender, but even PSD'ing a delisted ruckman has to be an option.
Why do you feel Wood is worth a pick in the 4-7 range?
He's not awesome...but if he went to Bulldogs without doubt he'd be a major tall forward and push for best ruckman. Essendon believe he has great leadership qualities...many benefits if he went. But don't reckon he will.

I'm guessing Paul Salmon?Ruckman aren't forwards. I can't think of any in the last 10 years that has successful careers doubling as forwards. I'm prepared to be proved wrong but when was the last time a legitimate ruckman kicked more then 40 goals in a season.
After seeing this guy, I really rate him and personally would love to see him in the Crows colours. He is a star, and I know you will say he wont be leaving the Bulldogs anytime soon, but to be realistic what sort of a trade would you accept for him.
I'd say
2 first round draft picks + a decent young player
p.s Sorry if there have been any threads about this, but I am just interested
) for the next 12 years in the red, white and blue.Good to see hes highly rated among other fans.
But 2 first rounders and a reasonable player? Holy shit! Now im not sure if your trying to get on our boards good side but thats alot to give away for a young player. I still probably wouldnt take it because i get attached to players and dont like to see them go but thats a massive offer and we would be mad not to seriously consider that.
Hopefully he can have another big pre season and build his engine up to have some stints in the midfield and become a part of the rotation.
Well our first round draft pick would be fairly low, and you must remember Adelaide has a very weak forward line. Higgisn would slot very nicely into our team.
He is not totally proven, but id be willing to take a punt on him

More than fair offer but Adelaide would never agree to that anyway. And I want to keep Higgins. They said at te time of the draft he would go at 6 and we got him at 11![]()
If we had the opportunity for a Mcmahon-Hille swap I would definetely take it. But I do think Jord will have an impact again next year when he gets his confidence back.
Why do people under value McMahon?
At his best he has done more than White or McGregor.
its not about undervaluing McMahon its about list rebalancing. Who else of our light bodied 'outside' players will you trade.
The fact McMahon is talked about as being tradeable is not that he is a poor player, its more a reflection of us seeing him as having trade value.
The exact value is debateable and wouldl be worked out by Eade and co if they decide to shop him. Whether he is worth McGregor or White is debatable. McMahon has only really put a couple of seasons together and has been dropped twice this year. It is concerning that McGregor has been in and out of a side bereft of key forwards... Personally I think McMahon is a better player than White and McGregor but as we have come to rue...size does count, so it will be interesting to see what happens, but I am tipping a light bodied outside player will be shopped heavily.
Why would you trade a guy that was regular and valuable memeber of the 22 until this mid season together with a 2nd round pick all for a guy that doesn't get a regular game at a club aroud our level?
It reeks like the Montgomery/Eagleton trade where we paid too much and lost out big time.
Thorp is going no where. B.Dowler anyone?I don't think we should be looking at Fev. perhaps Clark from Brisbane or Thorp from Hawthorne?
