Re: Ryan Murphy trade?

What about him and our second rounder (pick 22ish - depending what happens with other teams' priority picks) for pick 5?

Or even him and both our 2nd and 3rd round picks (22ish and 38ish)?

Why do you think we would go this crap deal? You only get one Peter Rhode in a lifetime buddy. You screwed us on Koops and cost us Mundy be happy with that, and take your vulture like ways elsewhere. Try reading your own board which has thread on Murphy where he is called soft, lazy, and not worthy of a first pick....gee..

Re: Time to part ways

Grant Thomas has spoken several times about our lack of leadership at the club.
With the rose coloured glasses on this year I thought he was having a lend!!!
Sadly, I think he was spot on.

When we have people like Gia in our leadership group, I think we're struggling. Leaders stand up when they're needed and put themselves on the line.

If we're talking leaders, it's actually our youngsters like Everitt and Williams who continually put there hand up and give a dip.

Our team of passengers are lacking leadership right now and I'm not sure where it'll come from in the future???

Gia will never be a leader.

When the chips are down, a REAL leader stands up and takes the contest by the scruff off the neck. Johnno is the only one in our side who does this.

Just for a laugh, has anybody got the words to that Peter Jackson ad?

Some are saying that. Others are saying we shouldn't let a young KPP go unless we get a first rounder in return. You know what footy fans are like. No one ever agrees.

I'm not trying to offload Murphy. I'd be happy to keep him. I'm just desperate to get hold of Masten and Palmer, and Murphy is the only player of any value that we can cover for the loss of. I wasn't being vulture like - I know he's not worth pick 5 on his own so I was wondering if packaging all our other picks in with him would be closer to the mark. It seems not.

There have been rumours that we may offer him to you guys so I just wanted to see what you all thought of him. Obviously not much.

Note the bold. It should read young AFL standard KPP, which Murphy has not proved himself to be, otherwise your statement is correct.

Re: Time to part ways

Trade Gia and Mcmahon...Jordy has lost the plot this year and Gia cant kick, run or tackle. Farren will stay cos he has pace and can break the lines...just needs to work on his decision making. Power will also stay...he has impressed over the last month as a tagger, something we desperately need.

So the question is what will we get for Jordy and Gia?

Re: Draft/Trade Talk Thread

All,

Please post any Draft/Trade Related talk in this thread. All draft related threads that are now started up will be merged into this thread by the Mods. The aim is to not have every second thread that is draft/trade related cluttering up our board.

Leaders are supposed to inspire others, I don't see this in him! Maybe on the training track but that's about it!

Re: Time to part ways

So you are all for another set like 4 years back of Rawlings, Street, Koops and Veale?

Don't worry about talent in our own backytard (eg Hudson) and we don't those good picks?

What are you ranting about? Not trade for trade's sake, trade to improve the list just as Eade said last week.
Couldn't give a rats anus if they come from our own "backyard" or the NT.
Sounds like people are upset on this board. Another year is gone without a flag.
My 36th consecutive.

Re: Time to part ways

For those who wish to trade Gia & Jordy, what's your reason?

Because you think their not playing to the level they're capable of? Perhaps you're right & if you are, do you think other teams will offer much for them?

Not likely, so yeah, trade if you wish, just don't expect the world for them!

Those names weren't picked out of a hat. They are light bodied outside players which we have too many of - I think this is a consensus of anyone watching a Bulldogs game, and they have the most trade currency on our list.

(Eagle, Power etc have no currency.)

The most currency, perhaps, but would would you really expect to receive for them in a trade given how 'poor' they have played?

That's the problem, if they keep playing like crap we'll be lucky to get a slab of light beer for them and a packet of peanuts!

Re: Go and get f...ed list!

Schultz kicked 9 VFL goals today....still no better than a third rounder but may be harsh ruling him out completely?

Delist/Trade the following:

IMO, we need to get rid of these blokes. Delist them if they aren't worth anything, or trade where possible:

Travis Baird - Another half foward, nothing special.

Damien McCormack - Playing Weribee 2nd's. Has gone backwards, an average midfielder at best.

Andrew McDougall - If we're not going to play him, he shouldn't be taking up a spot on the list.

Jordan McMahon - Soft. Clubs will be interested in him though.

Will Minson - Doesn't use his agression in the right manner. Unless he gets his head right he should go. The only thing that will keep him is Darcy will be gone, Street is inconsistent, Skipper isn't a true ruckman.

Farren Ray - Annoys the hell out of me. I know he doesn't have a football b/ground and there is room for improvement, but his sloppy kicking skills hurt us too much, too often. He is not accountable enough. Thompson had 4 shots on goal against us today playing in the midfield, including the sealer. Clubs will be interested in Farren, particularly over in the West.

Matthew Robbins - Has been one of my favourites, so it's hard for me to say that the time is up. He always has a dip at every contest, but at 31 next year, he's not going to help us win a premiership.

Tim Walsh - Bite the bullet. Has had long enough. Injury prone, and he's just not going to do it for us unfortunately. Has has enough chances.

Retire: Grant, Darcy.

...Let's welcome in 10 new players in 2008. I'm sick of average performances, from an average bunch of players.

Agree maybe Baird should be cut, and Robbins is already retiring so we hear. And the rest, i disagree with you.

Re: Delist/Trade the following:

Do you guys have any rookies worth promoting?

Hows Minson gone in the VFL this year? I think Port could show some interest in him.

Minson isn't for sale. Don't listen to this guy. Well actually thats not true, we might consider it for your first round pick. Sounds crazy? Well thats how much he's worth to us next year.
