Hille has been pathetic for a couple of years now. Lets not beat around the bush, he's trade value is poor for a big fella. Specially with Ryder and Laycock coming along. But Williams is completely out of the question, and i can't see us trading away any young KP's.
Hardly, he has been good the past few years, he just needs to be at a club where they will give him the no1 ruck spot. He's easily better than any of your ruckman that you have on your list ATM, did you happen to see yesterdays game against the Eagles, Hille dominated in the last quarter and ended up with 15 disposals and 21 Hitouts and broke even with Cox if not ended up taking the honors. All off 68% gametime, compared to Cox 81% gametime where he ended up with 12 disposals and 27 hitouts.

Cox is the best ruckman in the league no doubt. But when the dogs lost by nearly 100 points to West Coast Skipper beat Cox that night. Even still cox got a massive 27 Hit Outs yesterday. But don't just look at the stats, the point is he's not the number one ruckman for a reason. If we get another 2nd string ruckman we would have a total of 5 pretty good...but not good enough ruckman in Skipper, Street, Wight, Minson and Hille. What a selection dilemma! Werribee would even struggle decide which ruckman to drop to the ressies.

Edit - Added Skipper as another second string ruckman.

Trade

Obviously you guys are after a KPP or ruckman/come forward. With your pick 5 the club will feel obligated to get the best available player (most likely a midfielder), but this would not meet your first priority.

If we trade you our first pick (ie 10-13) and Meesen and McGregor in exchange for your pick 5. You'll have two ready made big men and can use your pick 10-13 to pick up the best or 2nd best KPP/ruckman/forward ie Alex Rance, Ben McEvoy or David Gourdis. Therefore in one year you'll get 2 ready made big men and probably the 2nd best big man in this years draft.

Your needs met. Our needs met.

Thoughts??? Fair trade???

thats why i'd wanna go for charman, he would be our number 1 ruckman and can play forward

McMahon to port or crows (10-16)
their 1st pick and our 2nd to the lions (10-16 +22)
charman to us

id be keen to get mcgregor - we need a big lumbering bloke with a beard who can actually get the footy

Agree, LOL we need more facial hair !!

Seriously though, McGregor isnt as bad as some may think.
He has got good hands and can kick goals.
Except for this year where he seems to be out of favour he has been a proven performer. If you look at last year, we got McDougall, but he hadnt done too much at the Eagles.
I wouldnt be upset if we got him, you've got to say that he's better than Playfair, Schulz & the other duds that are put up by opposition supporters

I think McMahon proved his worth a bit today. Not saying he had an awesome match, but he showed that he's and AFL player that would be in most best 22's.....IF...they needed somebody of his style.

The fact that IF IS MASSIVE is a problem. But if McGregor came on board for McMahon Adelaide would have to cough up something more than a piece of phlegm.

We must keep Jordie!

= KNEE JERK REACTION

McMahon not defensively minded, struggles in the air defensively and on the ground. yet he is a half back flanker or back pocket. He is not good enough to get wing. So get rid of him if...the trade is right. Otherwise it has to be another light bodied outside player with some trade value = GIA. Who apparently is not overly tradeable.

He's actually a natural midfielder rather than a defender. He's a player who can turn a game with his run and skill, he's prepared to take a risk to break a game open. His defensive efforts are not regarded as his strong suit, but he works hard to shut down space and pressure, he's quick and fairly good at it. He struggles to stick a tackle on a player bursting past, but hardly any of our guys stick these tackles. I feel he's one that can be a part of a premiership, and aren't they the type we want to keep? I just feel he needs to be played as an attacking wing/hff who follows the ball.

I'm not one to have knee-jerk reactions, you must have me confused with the majority.

Sorry pal...but how many players do Geelong, WC, Swans and the Lions a few years ago carry that couldn't 'stick' a tackle....

We have to rebalance. 'Jordie' in a good team with his head screwed on is good player...we just can't afford to have so many one way players if we are to challenge for premiership. And given his alleged personal circs, his ties to SA and that he is one of a band of many non tackle stickers...he in my view is guy that needs to go to rebalance our list.

Today just confirmed to me that Gia should be moved on. We're seven goals down and he's still hanging 20 metres off the edge of a pack looking for a cheap stat.

But, unfortunately he wasn't the only one...pathetic.

Fair enough, we have different opinions. I don't think just having players who 'stick tackles' is our only problem, and like I said, it is an area that Jordan needs to continue to improve on.

For mine, he's a game breaker who still has a lot of upside and is an important member of our side going forward.

I guess we'll see over the next month or 2 whats going to happen.

Sticking a tackle perhaps should be pre-requisite.

We have too many players of the same type...some call them down hill skiers.

I really think McMahon is a good player but one of the 'too many' type...I agree he will get better...that is why he isn't shocking trade bait.

Will see what happens. But am tipping our last 7 rounds will allow Rocket to be ruthless.
