ernie.i would rather cheer on jordy at port than richmond. 1st pt.
i would rather he go to port for their pick 16, than to rich for 18.
I dont want to give ANY pick in the top 20 for brennan.

I would rather keep 5 and 16-18? and give ess pick 38 for k. bradley instead of getting brennan.
Bradley does not have the ability to win a game off his boot whereas Brennan does!
I know which one I would have of the 2.

point 1. I don't cheer or boo opposition players even if they did play with us. Not sure why you would.
Its about the best deal we can can get. Don't care where he goes if he is going.
Not sure if you don't want Brennan or you don't want him for a pick under 20?
In regard to K.Bradley, maybe you get what you pay for at pick 38. Brennan is at least 18 picks better.

At the end of the day we just need to get the best deal for our club. Brennan would at least provide some kind of a target upforward so it is doubtful we will be able to secure him.
Our earlier interest in Damon White indicates that we are in there seeking a big forward which is ideally what we need.
Would like to keep Jordan but not at the $$ that are being talked about (if true).

Some trade news according to the Age....

The Age
Stephen Rielly | October 11, 2007

The Dogs want pick 18 from the Tigers or pick 16 from Port for McMahon, not White, so that they can remain in the second round of the draft. They have to give over an unspecified second-round selection to Adelaide for ruckman Ben Hudson. McMahon, who was claimed with pick 10 in the 2000 draft, appears likely to be traded to Richmond or Port Adelaide.

Western Bulldogs defender Sam Power is likely to join the Kangaroos, whom he spent yesterday morning talking with. Power was also taken at pick 10, in the 2001 draft. The Roos are likely to give up their third-round selection, pick 48, for the 24-year-old, who could be the third Bulldogs first-round draftee to leave the club in the wake of a poor season.

Eh?

Power and McMahon - who's the third first-round draftee to leave the club?

what im pretty such saying is that if i had the choice of giving up pick 18 for brennan OR pick 38 for bradley...i would do the latter...as i dont rate EITHER.

Agree. And i'd hate to say this...really its pains me. But Bradley is closer to what we need up forward then Brennan.

I don't think Brennan is the answer to our problems but Bradley offers us nothing that we don't already have in Wayde Skipper. Big no to BRadley for mine.

How is a near useless big man with little physical presence "what we need up forward"?
We'd do just as well to keep our pick and try Doogs at FF again.
If we do trade Jordy and get a pick that would get us Brennan, then I would do that. He may not be a big bodied forward and may have consistency issues but we know he can take a mark and kick a goal.

You didn't quote me correctly. I said 'closer' to what we need. I didn't say he was what we needed. And i also took giving up a late teens pick over a late 30's pick in to consideration. We might be able to nab another KPP in the draft with pick 17/18 that could be better then both Brennan and Bradley. At least more consistent then both wouldn't be hard.

Sorry for the misquote.

On the other hand we might spend pick 18 on another Jesse Wells.
I'm going with the bird in the hand theory.
I think we're less likely to pick up a player better than Brennan at 18 than we are to pick up a better player than Bradley in Rd 3 too.

If it makes any difference, i doubt we'll get him, despite what texts to SEN might think.

all this talk about trading for forwards. Look at our list, Tiller, Skipper, Minson, O'Shea, Williams and Wight are all capable of developing into key forwards, playing whilst Harris, Everitt, McDougall, Morris and Hargrave down back. We are not lacking the talls, they just need some time in the gym.
We don't need potential talls as we already have them, invest in a superstar forward like McEvoy, Henderson or Grant with pick 5, and a hard at it midfielder with pick 16, like the new selwood.

so if i'v got this right it looks like

McMahon to Rich/Port for pick 18/16

Power to the Roos for a 3rd rounder (36?)

meaning we would have picks 5,16/18, 22, two 3rd rounders,4th round, 5th round

then trading 16/18 for Brennan

pick 22 for Hudson

pick ??? for Callan

is that about on the mark? if so not bad imo

Any other doggie players on the table? Ray Eagleton?

You will find that Geelong will accept any of our lower (4th/5th rounder) pick for Callan
