Draft -Trent cotchin

Cotchin will be a terrific player, but the conundrum for the Tigers must surely be whether to take him or the kid McEvoy from the Bushrangers.

199cm Ruckmen/Key Forward. They passed over a boy called Franklin a couple of years ago for an on-baller.

You Tiger fans will know better than me what the club's key position prospects are like. But if Kreuzer wasn't in the draft this would be the player they'd all be talking about.

Was outstanding for Vic Country in the Champs at CHF and has been real good the last couple of weeks in the TAC Cup. Fast lead and very good in the air.

I dont care either Way re. Cotchin/Kreuzer.

We get the leftover without the added pressure of choosing one at Pick 1.

Pick 2 is actually a blessing in disguise.
Carlton can't lose if they pick the best talent or pick for need at one or three, we have a fall back who might end up the best player of the lot. So I don't see how there's less pressure on Richmond when they have just one shot at one of the top three.

There will be as much pressure, if not more on Richmond to pick for need or pick the best with Carlton waiting pounce on the next best kid. Morton is highly rated despite being labelled outside/a Houlihan and has the potential to be anything (someone said he might be 194 cms) as a bottom age tall.

Carlton might pick Morton in the knowledge they'll still get Kreuzer or Cotchin at three and put the pressure onto Richmond. :thumbsu: :D

Hampson (202cm) and Aisake (201cm) can play. Hampson is a freak of an Athlete and could be anything. Aisake also has a lot of upside. We have Cloke who is a handy ruckman, but Ackland stinks.

Carlton will try to pick up a ruckman in Trade Week so they can draft Cotchin at 1 and Morton at 3. :thumbsu:

We will then have Hampson, Aisake, Cloke and Wood/Jolly

I agree. That is exactly what I think they will do in trade week.

I know we are keen on Morton as well as Cotchin.Id laugh if we take Morton at 2 and you guys go for the next best Masten and Kruezer ends up #4:eek:

Will not ever happen. How about applying the Occam's Razor principle (most obvious explanation etc). We'll take Kreuzer at 1, and Cotchin or Morton at 3 depending on who you take at 2.

It only becomes tricky for Carlton if Richmond take someone else (Palmer, Mcevoy) at 2. Then we'd have to choose between Cotchin and Morton (oh, the pain:))

....Not a dud. Very good young player that has stalled due to injuries. But not the best pick in the draft that year.

injuries????? first year he played every game, second year he missed one game with a knee injury, and this year he missed 2-3 with a broken hand. doesnt seem very injury prone only missing about 5 games in 3 years

Regardless of other people's opinions on whom Carlton should Draft, Kruezer has been told that he will be drafted by Carlton with the no 1 pick.

 that's interesting. Does WH get a 2 month fully paid holiday to Thailand to go with that? Before draft camp and TAC finals I would find that negligent, bordering on incomptetent, would surprise me from WH.

Second best then.

Deledio is a gun and would be a matchwinner playing in a side as good as Hawthorn's.

Deledio appears more level headed than Franklin who has a chaperone, so there's still a long way to go.

We'd still get Kreuzer after trading Fev for pick five and Melbourne draft another in and under gut runner.

Win-win. :D

And how would you know?

Aisake is probably further advanced than Setanta at the same age because he's taken up AFL earlier.

He's taller than Setanta, but just as agile and built like a brick outhouse.

I would still take Deledio #1. Apart from Bloody Franklin, who else is close?

Also, Odd...He has not been injured much? He has also not stalled. His second half of the 07 season was better than his first.

Lids is EXTREMLY versatile, is an exceptional kick of the footy, is as fast as it gets, gathers possions on the HBF and delivers 70m possesions into the forward line with pinpoint accuracy. He is a top mark and a great option in the forward line as his a great lead and good at contested marking. His handballing to best option and beating tags are the only things lower than first class.

He will also probably improve a number of orders of magnitude over the coming years.

Bloody Franklin is a matchwinner on his day but no where near as consistent right now. I think his overall performances are based on a number of great days and the fact that he's difficult to match up on, versus actually being that damaging. No doubt he's a class act, and will improve, so it's a tough call, but I would still take Lids.

Mate he finished 2nd in the Coleman medal race, not consistent?

m8, if your comparing players to Setanta than your basically saying he similiar and to be honest, setanta isnt very good. yes ive seen him do a few good things... every player does but seriously. this kid isnt a star.

secondly Aisake IMO delisted 2009.... it would be stupid for u guys not to take kreuzer at number 1. because you have cameron cloke who is pathetic and ackland who wont become any better than he is now.
