Can someone tell me why some picks are announced by Gil and some by the coaches?

Does Ross Lyon still have a stitch from having to walk up and announce their first rounder ?

Coaches did the first round, or the 1st selection for their club if they didn't have a selection in the first round.

Gill is doing the rest of them.

Coaches have to announce their teams first pick or something, which is why Simpson, Buckley and Lyon went up to the podium despite having 2nd round picks.

A lot of people in the heat of the moment saying why didn't we trade pick 13 and pick him up later.

The obvious answer is he wasn't our first target at that pick. Whoever we wanted (Francis probably) was obviously already gone.

This clearly isn't a pick that fits the "best available" myth. We obviously have a role for him that he suits better than anyone else so he was next on our list to fill it

It's out of the box and left field. Classic Adelaide. Let's hope he turns out to be an Obahn and not a southern expressway

Just about everyone that's watched him seem to think that Milera will be a star, and you post that crap!

If he doesn't rate B Crouch particularly highly, then Milera doesn't have much of a hope.

When everyone was raving about Milera and we were tipped to take him, I went and looked at his highlight reels. Looked like he was playing half back at the champs, he was elusive, did a lot of good work with his hands, but his field kicking wasn't great - which explains why the Bulldogs were playing him as a small forward, where it doesn't matter so much if you can kick well at goal. His field kicks were all loopy and inaccurate, especially to marking forwards.

He actually looks like a really good inside mid who is unfortunately sporting an outside mids body.

We obviously liked this guy for some reason - maybe another club had him on the radar and we stole him?

Not one phantom draft - most of which have been almost on the money throughout the top 25 had him anywhere not even in a "if they don;t take him they might take.." sense. But yeah, let's believe we needed to grab him at pick 13.

Christ we traded down from 10 to 14 last year for Lever - a player who was very much on the radar.
