Looks like it's going to be a big draft in 2016. There were 19 positions which went unfilled in the National Draft. A couple of them might belong to GWS, but there will be several other teams going around with less than 40 players on their senior list next year.

Yes even after Bicks interviewed Balic and spoke to his parents about potential homesickness, he still wanted us to draft him. I remember, it was a real Johnny Come Lately type call from Bicks. Pretty much copied the phantom drafts. Refused to have the courage to put it in his sig like all hardcore draft analysts would though.

It still has it's use, It's needed if a trade can not be achieved on a player wanting to leave, and in years when there is a deep draft teams use it to have a bit more time to choose their last pick, like Port did with Colquhoun a year or two ago.

I'd scrap the rookie list and rookie draft and extend all lists by 4 places and just have the preseason draft, but have it in January.
