I’m not sold on Thilthorpe. There I said it. I reckon he’s gonna get big, injury prone and slow, aka Kreuzer style.

Also I’m not a fan of how he tied up the strings on his hoodie in his draft video. WTF who does that?

It's risky, but if we did get 14 & future first from Collingwood, we may well be able to get Perkins with that 14.
Even if Perkins doesn't last (reckon the Roos would take him), plenty at 14 that would make trading 8 and adding an additional F21 next year worth it

if I remember I think I read somewhere that cal isn't much liked around the clubs and is a bit of a worm

anyhow, now that drafting has become super high stakes with live trading ect clubs are extra coy on giving up their hand, even to the point of spreading misinformation if it gains them in a trade scenario...and using the media to spread such stuff. Then you have these self-styled draft experts who stake their claim on phantom drafts..

The two no longer compute - phantoms have pretty much now become null and void.

Reckon Cal is flailing, like a fish gasping for its last air flopping on the jetty. when this years phantom goes 6/20 the jig will be up.

I agree he might be personalising it a bit, but more form the perspective that he is an Essendon supporter with Essendon memorabilia on the wall of his house who is fed up of not getting the basics right.
I actually missed the part about him being a bombers fan. Can certainly understand his perspective a little more as a fellow frustrated fan 🤣

I’m more into Perkins than I was yesterday. Confident, self aware kid.

Listening to Robbie D'Orazio talk about him, certainly seems like a very confident, even arrogant kid. Could certainly use a little bit of that on the list.

- 'Men want to be him, ladies want to be with him'
- 'Still learning how to fully embrace that it's a team game' - struggles with not having to say everything on his mind

Almost sounds a bit like Brodie Grundy in his draft year.

Probably an unpopular opinion but id much prefer Reid over cox. Reid just screams AA CHB to me with his composure, and elite marking + kicking. Having him as our CHB for the next decade with Brand as our FB gives me hope. Cox on the other hand, yes he has the elite athleticism, but from what ive read, he's not proven to be an elite KPP. Its all good in theory with his attributes, and I hear too much about 'versatility' when it comes to cox, which makes me think that he isn't exactly elite in one key position, but Reid has proven (albeit in limited game time) that he is the far superior CHB option, not to say Reid isn't entirely versatile, he has proven to be an excellent ruck option and I believe he can go forward if needed?

At the end of the day whoever we pick, Adrian and RFK would have done their due diligence so I trust their selection(s)

i'd like both
Agree on Reid. Steps in for Hurley whilst Brand/Zerk audition for FB.
Cox up on a wing could be a nice point of difference/weapon that makes it easier to pass on Perkins/Henry should we opt to.

It's the pick after i'm torn on

Been a fan of Perkins as a bit of an impact mid. Lack of exposure and the spectre of the Laverde selection does concern me.
Bruhn & Phillips look like safe mid bets, though i wonder if it's more of the same we have
I like the idea of splitting for O'Driscoll (inside mid) and another pick (this year or next) to help build depth if the option comes up.

O'Driscoll looks like a perfect plug and play fit.
Clean hands, good in the contest, great vision, good size to compliment what we have.
Not getting my hopes up as he hasn't been linked to us or projected that high.

I disagree with your assessment of Reid's athleticism, given you're all over the shop.
If you break it down the discussion is around the athletic merits of Cox and Reid and whether they are significantly different. I think everyone agrees that Cox appears to be an athletic freak whilst Reid is a good to very good athlete but not in the freak category.

Whilst Reid is good athletically, Cox is better. Is the difference significant? It may be....it might seem marginal but it might also be the difference between a really good player and ....well, a freak. It's not everything but it's silly to pretend it doesn't matter.

sounds like the Petracca strut

Was it Tracc who was effectively useless when it came to organising himself? and his parents were still doing a lot of stuff for him after the Dees recruited him.

So for those of us who havent been paying as much attention as we should have ( :$ ), are our picks actually at 6,7,8 or have they been pushed back a couple spots?

For now they're 6, 7 and 8. But tonight during the draft they'll be pushed back at least one spot by Adelaide or North bidding on JUH in the first five picks. Might get pushed back another spot if North bid on Campbell at 2. That's a long shot though, so realistically we'll have 7, 8 and 9 after a JUH bid gets matched at Pick 1, 2 or 3.

JUH will push them back 1 for sure
Campbell could.
We may also bid on McInnes (unlikely to be matched though) & Jones (likely to be matched)

So they'll be 7, 8, 9 at best
could be 9, 10, 11 at worst.

Doesn't really change who we have access too.
