Well to start with he is different to Stringer as he is quicker and able to work up and down the ground better as he has a better tank.

Langford would be close but again Henry has that extra pace over what Langford has so he plays a more explosive game.

Laverde would be the closest although again I would back Henry for pace over him and Laverde can play. His issue has been constant injuries so you can hardly say lets not pick Henry because Laverde did not give us what we wanted. If we went down that road we would be saying do not pick a KPF as Gumby fell over.

I know nothing about Henry as an individual and all of what you say makes sense.

I suppose we're all pre-empting the inevitable Dodoro post draft "X is a flanker but we think he can play in the midfield". You then have to question why he was recruited.

I can't say I'm sold on the investment of a first round pick in a mid-sized forward. Gun mid-sized players tend to get AFL talls who can match their physical ability and then it is only the complete freaks who do it well. Where does Henry fit in a side that should include Wright, Stewart, Stringer and Harry Jones, possibly even Laverde?

Can Henry be taller version of the smalls at Richmond who burn up and down from forward to wing? I suppose nothing about that role requires a forward to be small but a capable runner and hardworking.

Perkins looks very special, really hope he is an Essendon player by the end of the day.

I can't help but look at a player with the profile of Perkins and wonder if he is the next Callan Ward. Generalist midfield in the sense that he can genuinely do it all short of slice a game up on the outside.

Have to accept there is some uncertainty because this was supposed to be his midfield break out year.

HPN has done the consensus one (based on collating a number of popular phantom drafts)

Bruhn, Perkins, Reid seem to be the most popular selections for us.

Rather not Bruhn but eh

Archie Perkins sounds like a tosser...
I don't think so. I don't mind his honest, but I didn't like what he said about not being able to commit 100% though...

The backlash may be a good thing for his career if he is as confident as he seems. Might give him motivation to put in extra effort to prove the doubters wrong.
His mental strength will be scrutinised because of this.

I would be very happy to walk away with Bruhn, Perkins and 1 of Reid/Cox. Plus the NGA boys.

If I'm picking a player for him to emulate it'd be Isaac Heeney. Junior flankers turning into full-time AFL midfielders are somewhat rarities given the competition for a spot in the middle. I think Perkins has of the highest upsides in the draft and a year showing his midfield exploits would've had him rated on par with Hollands or perhaps even above him. Similarly failure to prove himself in that area of the ground probably drops him to the latter stages of the first round, however that's the risk that the year off has created.

I reckon Henry is more the Heeney type. Appears to have that same balance in the air that only Ryan, Howe and Heeney have where they can fly high and then hit the ground and play on immediately while the rest of the pack is all on their knees.

Can someone confirm whether Essendon are based in Victoria? Asking for a friend called Archie

I thought they were moving to Broken Hill to keep Daniher and Fantasia

Shown the aerial prowess but no midfield game.
