I'm keen on Blakely too, but I'm not sure he's gettable anymore. He returned to the side with a 23 disposal game and Longmuir spoke glowingly then of his importance to the side going forward and of how he was challenged to go away and learn more about his role and did. Longmuir feels like Blakely is his star student at the moment.
He's gone

This is a problem, his ball use according to Fremantle supporters is appalling.

I've watched a bit of Freo (as my brother barracks for them) and he kicks fine IMO.

https://www.ultimatefooty.com.au/players/1637 avg DE of around 74% career to date

This is better than Brayshaw, Cerra, Fyfe, Hill, Mundy and Walters. Acres and Darcy Tucker just shade him.

That's because he's either played half back where Zac Dawson DE was better than Gary Ablett jnr or as an inside midfielder hitting 2m handballs

Would be interesting to look at his KE in games played as a mid

So we should be looking to trade with a team like the bulldogs to improve our draft hand.

Nothing fancy but something like

42 and 60 for 37

Moves us up some spots and gets them more points so they are less in debt next year and we will likely be using those backend picks to match on the academy boys anyway so losing 60 does not hurt much when we have 69 and 70 anyway.

Is that right or should we be looking to gain points at the backend for the boys?

Sounds like Eyre might not even attract a bid, whilst Brand wouldn't be a high bid. Not sure we'll need all that many points to match.

There might be an opportunity for us with Collingwood and Port Adelaide having players who might receive a bid before their first pick. It would be nice to receive a good offer for our pick.

I can seriously see Geelong circling us and Gold Coast for a pick swap for Tanner Bruhn.

eDPS lets talk about JAckson Cardillo please

What is stopping people talking about him as being a top 15 prospect? seems like he has a few weapons, what we require as well. Nice enough size at 185cm.
I thought he was unlucky not to get a combine invite especially from his form last year and testing at the start of this year, this was my write up on him before the season started

Jackson Cardillo
186cm 78kg
Forward/Midfielder

Strengths
Speed
Overhead Marking
Clean hands
Forward Craft
Midfield Balance
Composure
Tackling

Queries
Kicking
Production?
Contested game?
  • Kicking is the main spot to just tidy up, not bad in the contests but could go a little harder to win own ball at stoppages and use the breakaway speed he knows he has

The two other guys that intrigue me are Dumsney and Caleb Poulter, any word on those guys?

Looking at Cal Twoomey’s phantom guide the first 6 live picks are:
McDonald Yes Please
Hollands Bigger mid and could add goals
Thilthorpe not keen
Grainger-Barras looks slight
Tanner Bruhn too short
Will Phillips too short

Any of those would suit our needs of quality midfielder or Key Position player.
