I'd be quite happy if we walked away with Cox, Reid and Perkins based on what I've read about them and where I think the list is probably at.

If we get Eyre and Brand later in the draft it sets up our spine for a long time to come.

We can address the mids and flankers next year, we may well have some very good picks if Merrett leaves so we can load up on some quality players over a these two years.

I would love to test Collingwoods resolve on McInnes at pick 6 (as 6 will be harder to match amd makes no differemce to us which pick we take him at)

I really like him, and as a 192cm midfielder with elite pace over 20m at the combine, it is worth it the chance they match anyway (which they probably will)

whatever mate. Trade 2 of the picks for Dunkley then. A proven A grader.

your waffling and it’s boring.

you r right though, I don’t spend much time watching the WAFL so don’t realy have an opinion on the next buddy... or Scott gumbelton.

Bit of respect mate

Foj1 is one of our better posters and someone who has worked in clubland.

My uneducated take is that Perkins turns into a similar player when he fills out, and he has a lot more upside.

Would we take both Cox and Reid (with Eyre and Brand to come)? Seems to be same mistakes of the past to load up on talls and be weak in the midfield. At one point we had Hurley, Hooker, Carlisle, Joey and Ryder but not enough elite mids (poor Jobe). You can argue the talls take longer to develop and maybe our midfield depth isnt too bad (but big risk we will lose Merrett). I'd prefer to take 2 mids and 1 tall with picks 6, 7 and 8. Then next year, we will likely have an early pick plus possibly compo or good trade for Merrett and can go again. Sounds like we go for Perkins and likely Reid before Cox. Not sure re the other pick especially given Bruhn injury history but maybe that is the go. O'Driscoll seems unlikely as early as 8.

who are some from previous years that people here were rooting for? just curious
From memory here were some fan favourites...
2020: Perkins
2019: Jay Rantall, Jake Riccardi.
2018: Hind?
2017: Worpel
2016: McCluggage
2015: About right early (Parish/Francsi) Rhys Mathieson late.
2014: Laverde
2013: Dayle Garlett (We picked up Zerrett instead)

I am no expert but am a lot more interested this year than I have been for a while given our picks and the need to get it right. I can’t remember a young key forward performing as well against men in his draft year as McDonald has. ant555 foj1 what do you gents make of McDonald?

We've got Mcgrath, Caldwell and Parish as young mids currently so if you add Perkins to that we have a solid young midfield to work on. At the moment we have a lack of young KPP so I think going with 2 KPP players early plus Brand and Eyre isn't the worst option.

You'd hope not. 1 of Cox/Reid would be plenty considering we're adding both Brand and Eyre as well. We've still got Bryan, Jones and McBride untried and we've added 2MP. Hooker, Hurley, Ambrose, Stewart, BZT as well.

McCluggage was one. A lot of posters here were right into Charlie Curnow when we took Parish and Francis. A lot of Riccardi fans last year.

There is a few KPP in our team but Hurley and Hooker are nearly done and after that them you're left with mostly late round draft picks who are yet to really show a whole heap.

Hooker is close to the end and OOC
Hurley and Ambrose are both 30 and the injuries are stacking up for Ambrose
Bryan, Jones and McBride are all unproven and really raw
Stewart amd Wright are handy role players, but by no means building blocks
Brand and Eyre havent even been drafted yet.

If Reid and Cox are 2 pf the best 3 players available at our picks, you take both.
