Where would Sam Walsh's brother be projected to go?

He seems like a decent ruck option since we cut Crauford
Over 8 minutes in the 2k says no for me

Okay, what about this scenario:

Thilthorpe slips to us

We trade 8 to Adelaide for picks 11 and a future second (either theirs or Melbourne's)
We then trade 9 and the future second to Collingwood's 16 and future first

Take picks 10, 11, 18 (move back for Jones and McInnes)
seems Crows get a 50/50 pick 1 choice (or 33.33 if you count JUH) fairly cheap there.

I look at the impact of the King's and the loss of Daniher....i'd want to be fairly enticed by the Crows to give them what is likely their 2nd choice for pick 1.

May seem ridiculous, but 11 & F1. I'd rather bring in Thilthorpe for any less.

I like all the suggestions but maybe we shouldn't get to smart and just take the 3 best players available, take the NGA boys and move on!
i think the only issue there is whether those bests = more of the same
Phillips & Bruhn are good examples.
I get the reluctance to potentially let one of the better defenders slide (Reid v Cox) given we have Brand coming in and need mids....though i am a fan of both + Perkins as our haul. But 1x KPF & 2x mids does seem to make sense for us

If best at our picks for our needs could translate into best for our needs plus we get additional draft collateral next year, seems the smart move.
Depth is a real issue. One we could address if we nail the cleverness side

Don't mind this at all. We'd still get one of Cox/Reid probably pick up O'Driscoll at 18 and then have a few different options available at 11.

With no trade I think it's probably likely that we'd go Thilthorpe, Cox and maybe O'Driscoll anyway with our 3 picks so it's not far off trading Thilthorpe for pick 11 and a future first.

Went and watched the metro boys train. F**k me Cox looked good, he’s huge. His body has already started filling out, we need to draft this kid. Brand is looking bigger and Eyre moved really wellz
Bloody hoping beget the kid. How did Perkins look??

Talls taking long to develop to AFL standard is a overstated IMO. Most good talls perform to a decent standard early. Franklin, Riewoldtx2, Lynch, Kings, Daniher, Lloyd... etc.

There is inherent risk in drafting talls you wouldn’t feel comfortable playing in their first year and it should be avoided. We are in no position to be playing waiting games for two years.
I often think about Langford as a medium forward / mid... he's 6 years in and only just starting to be adequate.

Talls do take a bit longer on average but it's not like all small and medium players hit their straps immediately.

I get the feeling this is one year where things are not going to go totally to script in the top 12 like most years in the past 6 or 7.

Who’s your tip for potential bolters into the top 5?

Not sure about bolters in the top 5 but I do not think it is as set as it many think. JUH will get bid on early but the order of the next 5 or 6 could go any direction. I would not rule out us bidding on McInnes.
Tom Powell could sneak up a bit but probably not top 10.
There are a few bigger inside midfielders that could end up anywhere between 10 and 30.

Could Dodo get a message to him to start squibbing a few kicks and running at 3/4 pace to make sure he gets to us please

I've spent the last month or so wanting him to be in the red and black next year so I have already grown quite attached to him. I won't lie, I will be a bit flat if he is taken before our picks - despite the fact that it would mean a gun could/would slip to us! Haha

If Perkins goes top 5, does that mean whoever slips was truly a top 5 talent though?

Did your best to avoid me I see ;)

Eyre was superb in the contested marking drill, he will get a bid before Brand I reckon. Also Tanner Bruhn was also impressive and liked how serious he took the training and asked questions to the coaches so he could further improve.

Yeah I thought Eyre was really impressive aswell, has that spring when he launches at the ball.

Bruhn, Phillips & Powell would be funny for the melts at our picks :p
