If o'driscoll and trew last that late we should try split our pick with geelong for theirs and west coasts.
Again, assuming they're gonna last that late.
Pass. Would rather guarantee one than miss both

Say we have pick 7 and Phillips is there, do we take him or go a bigger body?
Phillips maintains our status quo.

I'm hoping at that point we get a great trade offer for a team that loves him (like 10 and a future 1st or something)

No one will be trading out theit first round picks for next year. Extremely good crop on offer. I feel like either Bruhn or O’driscoll will be our go, would love Hollands but unless we trade up he’ll be long gone.

I think with a pick that high you surely just go best available and make it work.

He seems to be the one bona fide midfielder in the frame at that pick, the others are flankers that could be.

Just on Phillips again. I’d take him if available. Size wise doesn’t change much but he’s harder than any we have and has clean/quick hands and is capable of executing the short kicking. I think he’s such a safe bet.

I’m beginning to agree, he sounds like another Merrett and you’d certainly take another Merrett. Not sure how he is as a runner but I daresay he could probably impact next year if his tank is up to it.

Seems a pretty safe bet in a class where nothing is really that safe.

I DO believe Trew, O’Driscoll and Phillips would all add to the side so either way as long as we go middle I’ll be happy.

I’ll laugh a lot if they don’t go tall.
Eh. Reeves showed a bit in the VFL last year, as did Kosi jr. Lewis we know can play. They took Jeka last year. A key defender yeah, but I'm guessing both McDonald and Thrilthorpe are gone by then and if not I reckon Phillips would be anyway.

Seems to be taller each time I see him.
looks to have a fair bit more growth in him.

I wish them luck with 3.5 AFL standard talls on their list and none taken in the first two rounds of the draft in waiting. In reality the talls that will be there for their next push up the ladder (2022 at best) will be Lewis, Reeves, Jeka and Kosi plus maybe hanging onto Ceglar as depth.

Phillips is not a need at all for the hawks.
Literally everything is a need for Hawthorne. Their midfield under 25 is trash apart from Worpel.

Not saying they won't go tall but they'll pick best available IMO because they have plenty of needs.

Anyway my ladder predictor has us finishing 13th, but Freo's deficit pushes us up a pick. If Brad Crouch gets pick 2 compensation I can see the draft up to our pick going:

1. Ade: Logan McDonald
2. Ade: Elijah Hollands
3. WB: Ugle-Hagan (NM bid)
4. NM: Riley Thrilthorpe
5. Haw: Will Phillips
6. Syd: Denver Grainger-Barrass
7. Syd: Braeden Campbell (Ess bid)
8. Ess: Nathan O'Driscoll

I can see Hawthorne taking the best available. There are so many holes to fill for them.

I'd be looking to cut a deal with the Cats.

Seems there are 2 Falcons boys projecting as top 10 picks. That's always going to appeal and could mean you could get 2 of their first rounders for a top 10 and a second round pick.

Edit: I suppose that is linked to the value of Brand and, to a less extent, Eyre.

Edit: I then checked Lore's draft list and we don't have a second round pick. Do I recall correctly that North might owe us something this year? There was something about our second round dealing I can no longer remember.

Hmm. I'd prefer pick 11 to be included in the deal but I can't see them doing that. They'd want Bruhn with our pick and Henry with 11.

If I was hawthorn I’d bid on campbell, then take bruhn. Above where I have him but exactly what they need.
Yep, bid on Campbell is an easy decision, Bruhn or O'Driscoll for the live pick, I'd probably choose O'Driscoll but Bruhn offers something else they don't really have, unless they plan to move Day there
