Neale is 177cm and at 85-86, prestia is 175cm and 82, Jones is 180 and 87, I see Phillips as the same body type, stocky and strong through the shoulders. As I’ve said if we pick up someone taller trade week, Phillips is a great option and is someone who will play team first football and help us enormously through the middle of the ground. Yes we’d love Hollands but that’s a pipe dream no chance he falls through to us.You're kidding right? How many sub 6 foot mids get to be 88 kilo's?
Our midfield is a shambles, let's not pick literally the only bloke in the top 15 of this year's draft class that makes it even more unbalanced.
. (Wishful thinking).O’driscolls kicking will mean he falls back, same thing happened to Robertson last year. We could potentially get him if we aquire another mid to late first, if a few players leave.I get the Phillips discussion, he is good. My issue is that he adds to what we already have though which is smaller type inside mids.
Who of our current crop does he play in front of? McGrath, Shiel, Merrett, Parish? All similar types, heights & weights.
Not sure what the point of difference would be with Phillips, what would he add that we currently dont have? If O'Driscoll is still there at our first pick, 6 or 7 he is the no brainer pick for me, unless of course a miracle happens and Hollands slips though. (Wishful thinking).

His kicking is better than Robertson’s though and honestly not much worse than Phillips field kicking although Phillips is a better finisher around goal.O’driscolls kicking will mean he falls back, same thing happened to Robertson last year. 4min mark is a good example of his physicality
Thanks for posting - first time I’ve seen him. He’s short but he’s different to our other short people - more aggressive and more powerful.
How’s his kicking rated? I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but something about his ball drop looked off...then again so does Matt Rowells!
Phillips is a great kick over 10-30m, rarely see him bite off anything longer, always picks the right option and knows his limitations. He’s one player that would actually lower his eyes kicking from a stoppage or into f50 which would help us immensely. I have doubts over O’driscolls kicking and who ever picks him up will have to put a fair bit of work into it, if his kicking was better he’d be in the top 3 conversation imo.His kicking is better than Robertson’s though and honestly not much worse than Phillips field kicking although Phillips is a better finisher around goal.
Problem we're going to have is, if this is a year of significant list turnover, then it's really not the draft for it.
Lists are only going to be reduced at a couple of players at most.If you have a few first round picks which we may with our own pick, a Daniher pick and a salad pick it is not terrible. Also all lists will be reduced hence we were going to have to delist a swag of players anyway.
Salad pick? Caeser or pasta? Or are we splurging on a wild rice?If you have a few first round picks which we may with our own pick, a Daniher pick and a salad pick it is not terrible. Also all lists will be reduced hence we were going to have to delist a swag of players anyway.

Our midfield is unbalanced because they don’t work as a collective at stoppages or running defensively as a unit. Phillips would definitely help that. Putting a taller guy in the mix doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll make the midfield work better. Phillips will be a wrecking ball in 1-2 years, he ain’t like parish or McGrath who have taken 3-4 years to put on size. He’ll be a 87-88kg 179cm mid at minimum. You don’t think a lachie neale (short mid but stocky) would help our midfield balance?
Might wanna add one who can kick because we do have a player already that fits the bill hahaWhat we really need is a vanilla 185 - 85 midfielder who can win a clearance if needed but also do the blocking work for the blokes we have who are actually pretty good at winning clearances.
Not even going to touch that.Might wanna add one who can kick because we do have a player already that fits the bill haha
36 main listLists are only going to be reduced at a couple of players at most.
Thought they would’ve gone 38, 2 a, 2 b.36 main list
4 cat A rookies
2 cat B rookies.
Looks like this will be where it ends up.
Not enough saving in rookie cuts.Thought they would’ve gone 38, 2 a, 2 b.
