I don't know how we'd do it but I'm still really keen on getting James Rowe if Fantasia leaves.

21 years old
37 senior SANFL games
75 goals, 32 behinds (70% accuracy) over his career, 38.9 this year so far (81% accuracy)
14.3 touches a game

Almost a perfect plug and play small forward next year.

Lore I know when academy bids come in the picks that are pushed back decrease in points value, but do the picks that move up increase as well?
The picks are just picks. The points value isn't assigned to your specific pick, it's assigned to a pick number. When you attempt a trade or match a bid they look up the index and assign a value, and whatever pick number the pick is at that time determines the amount of points it's worth.

So if 6 players are matched ahead of our second pick (currently 42), and 6 other picks get used in between, does that mean our pick 42 get assigned the value of pick 36 (502 points rather than 395)?

Watched the WAFL GF. Alec Waterman was sharp and kicked 3 in a tight tough low scoring game including a couple of beauties one from 55m out into a tricky Freo breeze, the other a half chance snapped from decent distance that went goal post height. Looks a natural small forward and a damaging kick - the sort the Eagles usually go for. Read he battled chronic fatigue a few years back post glandular fever hence being delisted by WCE so that would have to be looked at for any club interested.

Wasn't he on the Eagles list previously??

What about Zak Strom finals as a key fwd

Was huge. Looks an amazing athlete think he turns 27 next year so he might be just past it

eDPS Is there a consensus for the point at which the top end talent drops off in the draft order? Just wondering how this year compares and if two picks in the teens could be better than our first pick.
I would take two firsts over our pick 6 if that answers your question.

true. But i imagine it's a cold day in hell if JUH gets through to the Dogs without a bid on their 1st pick

On the others, we'll know what they are come trade time as well. So can re-assess the position.
But if there is an option to turn 6 into 11 & 12, even with the slides, i take it. We need depth. And the quality is so unknown outside the top handful this year due to lack of exposure that 2 bites at the cherry is preferable.

in terms of bids & matches, i'm thinking its JUH (has to be bid on by pick 5), Campbell (Swans probably get to use 3 still) and Davies (GCS will get their 1st).

Draft could pan out as (pure speculation of course based on my assessment of needs and Twomey's top 25):
JUH - bid match
Hollands - Crows
Thilthorpe - Crows (If Crouch gets them pick 2)
McDonald - Roos
DBG - Swans
Reid - Hawks
Campbell - Swans match
Phillips - GCS
Bruhn - Cats
Davies - GCS match bid
Macrae - Blues
Jones - Port match
McInnes - bid match
Carroll - Crows
Henry - North
Chapman - Freo

We're then on the board with the next 2 picks with 17 & 18 (which were 11 & 12)
O'Driscoll, Perkins, Jones, Trew, Cox - all still on the board. I'd take two of these vs. 1 of the ones we could have picked. Same applies if one of these is taken earlier and others are available.

We'd also have Constable. And Daniher is still a ? in this scenario
I doubt JUH is going to get a bid at pick 1

would think it's somewhere before our pick. i just put him at 1 based on Twomey's ranking.
I suspect he'll be bid on by North. Collingwood is a team I think we can chase that extra first round pick for.

If he tests well enough you could get 4 years out of him. He was certainly clunking a few and I thought close to Souths best.

Watching it again Waterman kicked it from 60 against the breeze and easily cleared the guys on the line - to quote my dad “Waterman kicks it like a ****** animal”. Waterman looks to have forward craft.

Pies & Dogs would be the two.
Possibly the cats if they're that keen on Bruhn, but they could leave it to draft night to trade up.

Question i have there is do clubs know about a selection (i.e would the cats know Bruhn has been selected) and get the chance to deal for the pick to take them?

No. The only situation where a pick is made and trades can still impact it, is a club trading after a bid is made but before is has been matched.

Yeh Im not sure on Waterman

He's basically a Mitch Wallis. He's probably worth a very late crack but I'm not sure he has enough height to play his forward role at AFL because he's slow and at 182cm you cant be slow as a fwd

Waterman is a state league footballer, wouldn’t get a kick on afl defenders.
