I'd be confident of him at least being part of a midfield rotation. Something like how Fyfe was used this year, or Dangerfield in the finals.
If he slides I would take him but turning 7 and 8 to get him is a risk i would think

Agreed, though the risk is probably there for all the talls as well. If we've learned anything this decade about key forward junior form is that you can't trust it.

Would rather have 3 shots at the dart board knowing one will fail

Brand will likely be a slightly better stopper but DGB is better than him in every other area. Wouldn’t surprise me to see us play him as a forward or mid either, personally I’d try to develop him as an inside mid long term.
Brand has not shown the ability to win his own footballer.
i see him more as an athletic stopper in the mould of Sam frost. His kick is better than frosts.
dgb is an intercept marker who can stop a player but is much more offensively minded. I reckon he might become a more athletic Jeremy McGovern.
i think dgb doesn’t get past hawthorn and may not get past the swans.

Should target Fraser Rosman with a later pick his testing was great and has the scope to turn into a big bodied mid/forward. A player who defiantly would have benefited from an extra year of games

I will say the one thing that multiple picks does is give us the option to do something a little risky, highly doubt a Hollands is there for us but if he is I’d take him and then play it a little safer with the other picks, not too concerned about the knee to be honest

Would you take DGB if he were available? Knowing we have BZT as a young KPD and that was it basically?

What's not to like about Phillips? He reminded me, in my scint highlight viewing, of a little Sam Mitchell.
Because we don't need another inside midfielder that is exactly the same as all of our other inside midfielders. He could be the best of them all but I couldn't give a shit because we're too small on the inside anyway.

Can someone explain Logan McDonald to me?

Watched his highlights and there was nothing that made me go “wow.” Nice mover, good leg but I didn’t jump out of my seat at anything in there. Looked at test results....nice 2km time trial but nowhere to be seen in the top ten for other metrics.

If I had to guess I’d say he’s an oversized flanker who’ll thrive on using his engine to exploit bigger defenders and his size to outmark smaller ones. Doesn’t seem like a really powerful KPF in the Lynch, Hawkins, Dixon sense and Not sure you want him as your number 1 target.

But this is all based on very little. Happy to be told I’m wrong. For the real talent watchers here - what makes this guy so special that we trade up to get him?

"Once in a generation key forward" whose numbers are "insane" are the kinds of comments I've read.

Nothing in my opinion he performed well in the WAFL been a lack of any Victorians playing so none of them shot up the order.

Explains why knightmare rates him

I see him as a good athlete but not sure if he worth two players for example Cox and Perkins

His numbers are pretty crazy - 3 goals a game at WAFL level apparently. But just not sure how he does it or how it will translate to AFL level.

Same as DGB at 195cm i don't think he can cope with the monster

Yeah - doesn’t look like a huge frame. Looks more of an athletic tall....which is fine.
Similar to Ridley

I just worry about 4 tall defenders who can't take the monsters

A shot at a key post as highly touted as he is is exciting, and the sooner we're onto it the better I think. They'll take time to really develop. Can imagine the three tall forward line of McDonald, Eyre and Jones though.

What is different between Logan McDonald and our young forwards already with us (or coming - in the case of Eyre)?
He is worth a shiny pick 2 and

Would rather take 2 kids especially Cox over him

The assumption we get Josh Eyre should well and truly come into our reckoning with our draft strategy.
